Reviving the question... =) There was smth about the correspondence of the map of US and that of DC. And here's smth that may be just a coincidence... And maybe not. I've searched the 'Net with Google for "Nawagu" (as in "Fox Nawagu", the label for the "strange message" scroll) and found this: http://www.miyazaki-u.ac.jp/~a0e602u/zukan/nawagu.htm The thing (as searches for "Elaeagnus pungens Thunberg" show) is commonly named as Silverthorn or smth. and it (as far as US map is concerned, at least) grows in Florida. Now, where's that HMV? =) Then again, it may be just a wild set of coincidences and assumptions. Then, a Lycos search yielded http://hotcakencyclopedia.com/ho.CompositeWordlist.html where nawa -- to sing [cp. wâ, to shout] [m] and nawagu-ireje -- they came singing [bs-W] [EDIT: acutes and other special characters aren't supported] This Hotcak language seems to be that of Sioux or smth. Does anybody know Sioux mythology? Maybe there's a Hawkslayer hero somewhere? =) Again, it may be just a coincidence... Hmm... å à á ã â ä û ü ù ú î ì í ï ß € etc... Don't seem to have any problems with special characters (actualy I the euro sign doesn't seem to be propperly supported, but other than that)... Just use them "straight up" and the forum will automaticaly translate them into the propper html version (å -> å etc.) for propper viewing... well i just did an avatar of order ending and i never even touched the si. i'm thinking it has something to do with it for sure. either that or the crumpled scroll is the SoO as khelly says something regarding a misguided myth. in HMV there's that little tree area on the outside of the east side of town inside the little stream. if my character wasn't saved at d:50 i'd go chec it out. anyway, who knows. |
