i went down to lvl 8 in the UD. it said "you feel excited. you suddenly feel threatened". there was a huge room of kobolds, about as many as you would find on a whole excited room but in one square room, then there was the excited part with orcs, and then there was a room like the kobolds but with mimics, i died on them. but it looked like the last room.

I believe yes. And it was luck - TONS of xp. But I doubt that anyone except an archer would have survived it.

What, you survived?!

I have managed to kill a moloch once. I have seen three. So naturally I thought if you face against a roomful of greater molochs you'd die. But hey, I've never got past level 25 :)

Your character was propably something I can't even dream of :)

IF you know the right startagy, I just got up I don't care about spelling, anyway I think it's impossible to go to the bug-ruins, I think this is a bug, my char is on lvl20 and I've generated over 100 chars, killed them all.

Yes, I've survived. Had slaying ammo, rune-covered trident and 7lb boots. I even cast cast slow monster on myself to give them a chance (and to get more xp), but stopped doing that when reached lvl 50 :).

The ambush thingy is when you encounter something in the wilderness - if you have a lot of Stealth and/or Dex over 30 you can ambush some cratures. They don't notice you until you hit one of them, sometime evan until you kill all. :)

no need to be ranger - i've done that (eg killed half of the bandits before they evan noticed me) with a DE barb with 38 dex (+12 from the trident) and stealth about 60. But the ambush thingy rearly appears, so maybe you just have to have more stealth? or dex? or maybe rager is the key? ;)

Woodcraft supposedly helps, for some reason. And it /seems/ like invisibility helps.
