What affects how much damage you do? More specifically, does your race/class affect your damage or does the damage only come from your attributes (for example strenght? Please don't answer saying that your race/class affects your attributes which affect your damage.

Race doesn't affect your damage unless you're counting skills that come with the race (orcs, for example, get find weakness skill). Class does affect your damage sometimes because of the different special abilities that come at certain levels (6, 12, 18...). Attributes are the main determinant of damage, along with (of course) the quality and pre/suffixes of the weapon(s) you're wielding.

No, but the faster you are the faster you hit; so if you have a speed of 200 you'll hit twice per turn; if you have a speed of 100 you'll hit once per turn.

Ha, on "Bonus"(a lousy tv quiz in finland) they just asked what is "ventrilokvismi". Obviously that guy has never played ADOM, he didn't know.

Iridia are you sure that class doesn't affect damage other than with skills and special abilities? Beastfighters at least get penalties for using weapons don't they? Or is it just for to-hit?

And everybody else, please share your opinions.

Damage it dependence from tactic, Strenght or dexterity stat (whips and misile weapon). Bonus from weapon and other stuff (rings, gloves or boots). Critical strike is very handy: find weaknes skill, or some items can increase your chance to critical hit. It's sometimes depends from your karma. Damage generated by monks and beastfighters is increased with theirs levels. If you have high strenght you have big damage... So when you start like troll you are very strong. But practicaly any race can have a very high strenght stat. You must just train it

If you have high dexterity you get high DV. If you have high toughness you have high PV.
