I have no experience with this class, so i would like to ask:
How important is Willpower to them?
What is the best race? (Dwarves seem nice - lots of Willpower, and good fighters)'

An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel.
A realist sees a train.
And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks.

I think willpower is about the only status used in calculating damage for their "spells"... That and what level your char is. So pretty important.

Willpower and learning are the only stats that really matter but learning doesnt affect their skills nearly as much as willpower.

Willpower determines the damage and duration caused by mindcraft. the other things don't matter about the damage done by mindcraft. But mana stat and mana regeneration speed comes in need later in the game.

Dwarves are very good with willpower, but has horrible Mana and Mana regeneration. But mindcafter need to survive until level 12, (when the class first learns the mindcraft that damages) and even after that they need melee since there are monsters on which mindcraft doesn't work. (even damages you when done to undead. Very nasty.) But I wouldn't really pick Dwarves.

I wouldn't pick weaker races either. I would pick Drakeling, since they have good strength and toughness, good hp regeneration and good pp regeneration. the only thing that makes you reconsider picking Drakeling is two things: ToEF and D:49. Other than that, Drakeling would be the best pick.

The first damaging mindcraft is mind blast at level 6.

I think he meant telekinetic blast which is at level 15, which damages undead and chaotics without the backlash.

I've been using mindcrafters a LOT lately.

-they are semi-good fighters. Get the sword of Nonnak ASAP

-their "spells" are great in one way and horrible in another. The "spells" give you damage spells, teleport spells, and defensive spells. Nothing flashy but it works

-NO element spells. Get wands and Bridge Building ASAP

I haven't tried mindcrafters in 1.1.1 yet. I'll post the talents that I use for them.

BTW, I use humans. No real reason but...
