1)Get a character with high survival skill (70+)
2)Keep on using survival skill in Forest
3)After your PC is bloated he/she will collect seeds.
4) sell the seeds (1 seed 1 gold piece)
I did this for a few minutes and it got me a few thousand gold

It takes too much game time...the background corruption kicks in too soon that way..

Actually, I'd say game time isn't that important if you don't happen to care about your final score. I never get to use all those SoCRs that Khelavaster gives, even if I manage finnish the game (normal ending).
But for greater endings the game time might be more important (haven't succeeded in ultimate endings... yet).

Money doesn't really matter to me,because I rarely visit shops and buy anything(unless they're really good).Anyway,I usually earn my daily gold by sacking dungeons and selling the useless items I find. It's a really slow process and takes a lot of game time, but sometimes you might find something usefull ...

I myself find very few shops during my travels. The only useful items I usually get are in the casino, where money problems are gone anyway. But the tip is good if a pair of 7LBs or a good artifact is at sale at Baranba's black market.

Also, by the time you see some shop that sells stuff that you like, you would have already a stockpile of gold with you, either from killing monsters or selling off their equipment. That's why I was wondering why people would want to waste their initial talents on the wealthy, very wealthy, etc. when they would get plenty of gold later in the game...

Not really many of the talents have such a significant meaning in your game so its wouldn't be too big of a waste even if you would pick your talents at random.

I suppose so...

But personally I like the Quick-Greased Lightning talents. Any increase to speed is always good for me. And trolls might want to get the good and great learner, because their level up experience is quite big, and the level up takes place slower for trolls.

As for the other talents, I think we can all live without them...

Well, the only talents I see useful are all the PV/DV talents.

Well, if it's PV vs DV, i'll go with PV! DV is easily acquired from Tactics.

Just a thought...

Do you prefer PV over DV?

Pv over DV? Never. I'd rather get not hit at all, then get hits that do no damage, but corrupt, drain stats, paralyze, cause sickness.

I usually try to balance my PV/DV values, so that they both are equal.

Early game I think PV is better and more reliable but the longer you play the less you want to get hit (and drained and corrupted at the same time). In the end game I'd rather have high DV 'cause if a hard hit hits you you can teleport away anyway. And I like my characters pure not getting diseases and corruption from ugly creatures.

I also balance it out, but my DV is now at ~80, and that's at normal tactics. So if I needed a boost in my DV to avoid hits from corrupting monsters, then Cowards tactics gives me a total DV of about ~140. :) Quite nice, I should say...
