dark-elf monks born in the month of the falcon (survival skill) very hard to play up until about level 13-14, but then they are a real fun character to play "Not Zeus himself nor any other Power Shall save this madman who defies the Gods!".....Phoebus Apollo |

generally halflings and gnomes. Gnome monks can kick walls and sac gems that way, but it takes a lot of time and food/living sac is more efficient. hurtling assassins get boomerang to start with, and thrown daggers and rocks at 4. that's nice. now playing a hurtling barbarian. Too much food to carry, really. and since barbarians have herbalism, I didn't have to choose between herbs and healing. (precrowned purifier... hoped for vanquisher...) And my point was... |

Meh. Drakelings have the second best natural regeneration and only need a fraction of the experience trolls do. In the new versions I never play trolls anymore, since in a normal game they'll probably reach about lvl 35 or something. Trolls can't even increase their natural healing rate with potions of troll blood, which is the best way. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. J's right. Drakelings are just better Trolls, with alertness and music ;) Strength and Toughness are easy to get, and Drakelings can get their natural healing rate to 1 better than Trolls are even capable of. Do Drakeling Elementalists(with the fire immunity adn stuff)still get damage from the ToEF?If so,then that would suck.Elementalists are meant to CONTROL the elements. Fear me not,I'll go nice on you....For now. |

Yes, and drakelings are meant to suffer from their metabolism which gets too fast in a hot temperature. They get a +150 speed bonus there from the heat so there must be some drawbacks. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Drakelings are the best in the ToEF. I did it today, Drakish thief. My guy is walking around with almost 300 spd, killing elementals and demons and giants and grues easily with the speed boost. The drawback is that once your speed gets high enough (which happens fairly quickly), you start to lose life every turn besides any damage you may be taking from hear for lack of resistance/immunity. If you are taking damage both ways, good luck. But if you are immune or resistant to the heat, the Drakeling loss is very controllable. I went in and clear the whole temple level with ease at 300 speed and only needed maybe 20 blessed spenseweeds to do it. I didnt even need to pray or use a potion, and my char wasnt that strong. Honestly, it doesnt get any easier. The heat can not kill you, and Ive spent time in there. And, if you have a regenerative item on, and fire immunity, that basically takes care of the special drakeling damage, and you still get the speed bonus. What sucks about drakelings is encoutering a frozen vault. You speed will drop into the teens and it gets scary. |

One of my most powerful characters was an elven farmer. They just survive. You pick up the Blessed Amulet of Life Saving. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, slowly turns toward you. "That will cost you.. ..your soul" |

My favorite is dark elven wizard. A bit hard to get to neutral first, but if you start by killing Hotzenplotz, that should be possible. And once you have a strength of atlas spell you're completly ready for it. Klavert -I want ye to slay a rat to prove your valor- Thrundarr That really happened to me :D |

Also the ventroquilism skill is a nice little extra free thingy, wich helps not to kill any cats. Klavert -I want ye to slay a rat to prove your valor- Thrundarr That really happened to me :D |

what if in a tunel with a cat in front of you and a moloch behind you and no means of teleportation? I was wondering: A lv 50 trollish wizard with all stats at 99 is as good as a dark elven wizard at lv 50 with all stats at 99? For the Horde! |

No, the dark elven wizard is better. I'm not sure about races having an advantage/disadvantage with reading books(proably not, only the stats matter), but dark elves live over a thousand years and have to fear ghosts less. Dark elves also have to eat less, but this is a minor concern to a level 50 char. Their natural mana and healing rates are different, but that can be adjusted with potions/corpses. Though again the dark elf has an advantage, as he can use potions of troll blood to increase his natural healing rate, whereas the troll can't. The manual talks about dark elves having good sight underground and being almost blind in the daylight, but I don't know how these things are implemented in the game, or even if they are in the game. The same goes with trolls said as being good targets because of their size/being dumb(as in learning spells), but I don't know if these things are in the game somehow besides the fact that trolls start with bad le and dex. About that tunnel situation: kill the cat or kill the moloch. Whichever you feel is the better alternative. You could also dig around either of them, if you had a pickaxe/wand of digging/can kick down walls or you could try to confuse/stun them and hope that they stagger away. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. no, nit with a lv. 15 wiz. you can't kill a moloch. Digging will take many turn so I would die in 1 or 2 hits if I'm lucky. For the Horde! |

if the thing with eyesight is implemented, it probably just affects how far you can see. i'm gonna create a dark elven assassin next, so i'll tell you guys how well she sees in light. Taz: A potion of gain attributes (4s) is lying here. Suddenly a stone block hits your head! Something on the ground is smashed to pieces! PeanutGod: Awwww no! How harsh is that! This is where you need the artefact 'mop and bucket'. |

Digging with a wand takes one turn, and you could probably kill that cat in one turn also. So you'll miss the ring, so what? Kill lots of cats and you'll get 2 or 3 million experience instead for killing the Cat Lord. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Racial perception seems to be implemented. A dark elf with good perception still doesn't seem to have that much vision range outdoors, and vice versa. You pick up the Blessed Amulet of Life Saving. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, slowly turns toward you. "That will cost you.. ..your soul" |

I like high elven paladins at the moment, mainly because they start at lawful, & have nice free armour [+0, +5]. But hey, what do I know, I've never even got a character past level 12 :( What do you wish for? wands of cat repellent_ |

If you like the elven chain mail, you should try Dark Elven Assassins. Just be carefull, throw your daggers (assasins start with Thrown Daggers at lvl 4), and you'll get over lvl 12 in a few hours :) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

I love Dark Elven Necromancers on the month of the Cup. Great magic users, chaotic and the benefits from the Cup means you level up fast and always get good results out of every book you read, then there's necromancy itself which is very useful at high levels. Should I eat it or make it my undead slave? |
