just what are the (dis)advantages of casting from a spellbook?? oh yes, another thing. i used to play nethack for hours at a time and a "moloch" was an evil god, its wierd how its some kind of monster in ADOM. im just curious about what a moloch is (his description and stuff) and his stats or something. Casting from spellbooks 101 1. it costs much more mana to cast it (4x) 2. it doesn't increase your spell power 3. your spell memory doesn't decrease And from what I know the book will disapper, but after a lot of castings has passed. On the moloch, it's a monster, yes, but it's a very powerful one (fortunately, it's slow). High PV, not much DV, causes a lot of damage per hit. YOu're a new player right? Then check out the manual first. And play safely [Edited 1 time, last edit on 6/6/2003 at 02:25 (GMT -5) by its author] |

About moloch: Check out http://advancedkid.narod.ru/mm00000.htm (Forgotten realms library). That page contains information about LOTS of beasties. Some of these are also found in ADOM, like blink dogs, balor and green hag. Sytytä toiselle tuli ja hän pysyy lämpimänä jonkin aikaa. Sytytä hänet palamaan ja hän pysyy lämpimänä loppuelämänsä. No, not any - it's just a demon in a VERY heavy (15000 stones to be exact) armour. The stats { [-20,+50](-20,-20) -20Dx, -20 speed} give an idea what kind of monster it is. Strong, durable, slow, clumsy, hard to kill. But it's just a normal demon, not some demi-god. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. [Edited 1 time, last edit on 6/8/2003 at 06:08 (GMT -5) by Maelstrom] |

It's just a generally known word for "evil thingie" that appears in several games and books without much connection. I have seen a book in which a moloach is a giant tank which is controlled by artificial intelligence and it hunts humans ChAoS iS cOmInG! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The oryginal Moloch (in our world) was a kind of mistake - that was presumed to be a name of some god who's worshippers sacraficed humans, but the name was acctualy somthing else (don't remember what). Today it's just a word for a bulky demon. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |
