Dove through the small cave, finished it when I was level 9 and the monsters were starting to get scary. I went to the village, walked through. Bought some more spellbooks in the shop, so I had a total of like 7, including Strength of Atlas, some bolts, and a ball. Oh yeah, I invisibled and stole seven league boots and boots of speed from Lawlentheil. Then I exit the village and come back. I kill an orc. Then i see a caveman so ice ball it. And i do it again because I saw it was still alive. Then it killed me, and it's name was Hawkslayer. DOH! Stupid stupid stupid stupid! (l)ook could have saved a potential winner! OMG You wish to kill me? Good thing I brought my psychic hamster named Hamster with me... |

A sad tale... But couldn't you tell when you hit it. It probably would have said something like, "You freeze Hawkslayer, the caveman" or something like that. Oh, well. (: |

Hawkslayer is no caveman - it's a special char, that looks like a caveman (brown @). That's why he named the thread "(l)ook command" ;P Don't worry Jurne, it happens to most of the promising charc (he would have died from corruption anyway... or meet a gorgon without petfication resistance ;) A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. No he wouldn't have *cries* he would have cast teleport... *cries* *laffs histerically because he lost another to a fire vortex right next to the exit to the village* STUPID ANNOYING VILLAGE! maybe I'll start skiping iit again like i have the last 400 games, lol You wish to kill me? Good thing I brought my psychic hamster named Hamster with me... |

We will all die - that is the way of life. And yes, it's a drag when you die to a vortex... Every of my melee-chars tries to kill at least one of each, so I died to them a lot of times. Just some info for Jurne: next time you see a caveman blast it with something else. They're immune to cold:) If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. LOL! Well, thanks for the advice, I normally don't use cold anyways so I have something for those evil rivers, but I kind of wanted to see if it froze the moat (which it did, BTW) and after I hit him once, i was like OUCHY cause I lost a whole lotta health. Lol You wish to kill me? Good thing I brought my psychic hamster named Hamster with me... |

i always forget about petrification resistance, as well as death ray. does the amulet protect you against death oozes? i've never seen one attempt to insta death me or whatever they do, and i don't want to. apparently they have to touch you. jan i've been busy this last week, got two winners for you to post. a druid and a bard. |

Death Ooze don't insta-kill. They are called like that because they have massive poison and regenerate. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Good luck, and don't forget to tell rgra if you discover any resistances Hawkslayer has or any effects from eating his corpse. If you go after him with a mindcrafter, maybe you can confuse him. |
