Been recently killing shopkeepers because they refuse to give my dark elven warrior a fair deal at buying and selling. So far I've killed barnabus and some random merchant in the puppy cave. I'm thinking of doing Waldenbrook next and need to know about the town hostility- does the demented ratling go hostile because I need him and does the ancient dwarf go hostile and if so how tough is he? Also does killing them curse you?

Dark elves get bad deals from *dwarven* shopkeepers, all other races will deal fairly with them. Oh, except the black market in *insert mangled name here*

Imagine a carmic popsicle -
First it is red and tastes like strawberry. Then it turns blue and tastes like blueberry. And if someone takes it from ye, he or she gets cursed and doomed.

If you have the unholy aura corruption i dont think it curses you, because they turn hostile first. Im assuming you don't have that though. What level are you on? If your strong enough I would recommend (sp?) the casino. Thats only if your strong enough though. The dwarven town is probably a bad idea because it makes the whole town hostile in the long run. You kill the shopkeeper and then all of the uniques become hostile. The priest come to attack you and if you kill him he calls upon his townspeople to avenge his death. There are also a lot of muscular dwarves that come to kill you. You can if you want... but just be ready.

It also makes the demented ratling hostile. Bad, because if you do it before you give him artifacts, you can't do the quest. Bad also if you do it afterwards because he'll be a whole lot more powerful after eating those goodies.

On killing the shopkeep in the casino try guerilla fighting (in new versions have something to heal yourself with, I mean major healing).

Very nasty pic. My pic is a mock-up of Travolta's dancemoves. It was first worn back of Suckers QuakeClan, something like 1000years ago...

I'd love to get some of his books. Too bad they don't sell them here:( Maybe I'll just have to order from somewhere.

I hate the fact that you can't wish for shopkeepers anymore. I liked when you could kill them, steal their stuff, wish for them again, and repeat. That was fun. :)

C- Wow. I haven't seen a NumberMunchers charecter in quite a while.

That's super-muncher's Frankentroggle (last lvl), it was either this or the terminator's arm at the end of t1.

Gah, I played NumberMunchers and WordMunchers on my old IBM, I never played any other Munchers games, so I didn't remember the names. (They were made by Mecc, and were quite fun.:))

OT: I have those games of coarse (number munchers, oregon trail, amazon trail). I haven't played word munchers is that spelling or what?

Acid and fire are my favorites to nick the shopkeeps (BURN!) really I only go after Waldenbrook (annoying and sometimes turn hostile unprovoked) and the casino shopkeep (only for wishing items) I cast fire/any good bolt from a distance. Then my advice is run! (ouch those shopkeeps punch hard)

Actually it's the same as number munchers, just a little easier. Just with like names of animals and stuff.

Ho-ho. Yesterday(After I got my computer working), I used a calm monster spell on the shopkeep (I used a editor to get it to 30000.) And lo, an', behold! He calmed down. Of course, you can't *buy* anything anymore, but it was quite funny. :)

Weird, a calm shopkeeper (that's the way it works when you wish for one on a lvl without a shop and then take him to one of the towns).

I wonder if you can wish for a shopkeeper if you've killed the shopkeeper on a level?

Lol. I'm *Pretty sure* that a bunch of thugs will still come up.

In the older versions (gammas) you could kill him and he'd come back if you wished for him.

*OT*-I found out how to get almost unlimited # of talents, if anyone wants it. :/

My guess is that too many crashes were reported when you wished for one in a place that didn't have a shop. That's my guess anyway. :)

Oh, so they required you to be in a shop. Another fix could've been that they would just behave like normal monsters if wished for in the normal dungeon but would start a shop if wished for in a shop. Probably too complicated but would've been fun.

Oh and what's the deal with the talents?

No, it's a WADOMF thing - the Elder Chaos God figurine IS possible to get if you edit the save game.

Does anyone know if wadomf also exists for the new version? I just found one for a pretty old version - had some fun waltzing through dungeons and blasting everything that moved with an Acid Ball spell at highest level, and wishing for greater molochs all the time... :P

It's also a nice way to pass the time, in a way. But I couldn't find the thing for the new version, the one with the talents.

Impossible. Suddenly you stand elsewhere.
You see an ancient altar of black obsidian.
The goblin rockthrower suddenly shouts a prayer to his gods! You are consumed by a roaring column of flame!
