is a complete b*stard. i got to D:50 and me and my greater earth elemental pet Eric cleared the place out of nearly all the original bad guys (one remaining chaos wizard still summoning) but that damn greater balor is an unbelievably hard nut. he killed poor Eric in about 4 rounds, my poor extremely experienced greater earth elemental :( how do you kill him? actually any tips on finishing the level would be nice. i had a look in the guidebook and it had a picture where someone had dug over to the lever rooms but the walls in the version i'm playing appear to be impenetrable, even to ghosts and earth elementals. Be ******very***** careful, if you have a weakling char. like I do... try acid,ice,lightning (ball) on him, be on coward defense have all your healing stuff, your armor will be damaged! You'll recive like 5 corruptions. Guerrilla fighting is the best strategy (and hit from far away). BTW; since when is b*stard a bad word on this thread? |

If you just want to finish the level, close each lever then destroy it with a wand of destruction so Fistinarius can't open it again. Then run for it. You don't have to kill him. |

yeah but i'm lacking in the wand department, and guess which corruption i've just picked up along with a few others. i think this character is dead meat/writing mass of primal chaos. the biggest problem is a can't hit him either with melee or missile weapons |

what character are you playing? bard? blessed arrows of demon slaying normally take care of him......... hmm , if you have the rune covered trident,with good experience on it, you should be able to take him.... |

I never had any problems with Fisty... maybe beacause my chars don't use pets and spells ;P I just kill him in a couple of hits with a good demon slayer. Arrows/quirrels are a good solution too (especially if you have Far Slayer or Sun's Messanger). P.S. the B*stard reminds me of "B-Star" :P (Diablo II: LoD fans should know what it is). assassin, 3 arrows of demon slaying, 3 quarrels, 5 quarresl of slaying, 7 arrows. if i was up aghainst giants or constructs i'd been fine for slaying ammo... i've got Far Slayer with crossbows at level 10 and can't get him. even the level 50 class power is useless if you can't hit him, plus i managed to get a supposed instakill on a balor and it didn't actually kill him just knocked off most it's health. aaaand they killed my Barry the balor too :( |

Well, I Always go Berserk! when shooting. It gives a really large to-hit boost (I assume you have Tactics on a decent level), and your too far away from him for DV to matter. tried that but failed too. i was aiming to pull the levers, place a monster on both of them then lock them in with doors but my wands and scrolls of monster creation got destroyed. i attempted to use familiars but the first was Eric and he kept smashing the doors and walking off |

I go berserk and stay there after about level 7 or 8. Its really helpful. The only time i change is when im running. (: |

I usually take fistanarius in melee and in coward as long as he gives me some weapon marks. ;) Then I go berserk and whack him off. But yeah, I usually play with barbarians. :) Even with a weakling character he always has been an easy one for me somehow. Just get some clear open space around you, and speed over 130, īplus some demon slaying ammo. He'll drop in a few rounds, except if you happen to be doomed/cursed. |

Aww, I hate that when it happens... I never tried the wand of destruction thing on the levers, you should get a bonus (points?) for that. I always play some sort of spellcaster (best ones for me!). I would have kept good wands and demon slaying weapons if I were you, no spells? No,way! Playing a fighter/slashy type class is tough (mo). Run away and keep SoCR with you nearby (for the drainer c.) I always have about 5 or 6 balor around the char. when I'm after Mr.Fi, ouch! (I only had like 1 hitpoint left on U. and teleported away to the stairs.) When lucky/fate smiles critical hits usually leave you with 1 hp instead of -20 or so. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.
