I just made my 1st sacrifice & some godly tosser shouts something about my being a puny (lvl 16 wizard) mortal blah blah blah, then promptly burns everything I'm wearing to ash!!! Is this gonna happen everytime i make a sacrifice & if so, what's the point? |

No, something like that will not happen every time... However if you sacrifice on a mis-anigned altar or sacrifice a creature with the same alignment as you (or a combination of the two) the gods tend to get upset... The color of the altar correspond to your alignment, if you are lawfull you need to use white altars, if you are newtral you have to use gray altars and if you are chaotic you need to use black altars. If you have sufficiently good standing with your current god you can attempt to convert an altar to your alignment by making a "big" sacrifice on a un-aligned altar, but going so can cause your alignment to shift (if you go from L to N or N to L or C or from C to N you loose ALL piety you might have earned with the god of your previous alignment, wich is a bad thing especialy if you have become a champion of said alignment), and if you have low piety your god will not convert the altar, but instead get pissed with you for making offerings to another god. Most likely that is what happened to you... Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |
