IIRC they're vulnerable to acid, so if you have acid spells, try them. One good way is to take advantage of their slow speed and hit them once, take a step back, hit again and so on. No need to go toe-to-toe with them, they hit hard. Obviously they have quite a big PV, so you'd better have some weapons with the of penetration suffix, or phase daggers. They ignore PV. Demon slaying ammunition will probably hurt them.

What race/class are you playing and what level are you?
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

I've killed at least 3 molochs with my bare hands, but that was with a lvl 19-21 Beastfighter with 100 in Find Weakness :D

You can fire penetrating missiles at them - they work fine. Demon slaying ammo work even better - the greater moloch I could not kill with my hands went down to a longbow and some arrows of demon slaying.

Here is a step by step guide to how I kill a Moloch:
1.I take my poisoned Eternium two handed sword of Penatration (+18, 6d5+18) [-1, +0] and walk up to him with an evil grin on my face...

2.Now, this is where you have to look closely, this is the key point in the demonstartion. I take my poisoned Eternium two handed sword of Penatration (+18, 6d5+18) [-1, +0]and hit him with it about 2-4 times.

3.Before you know it he'll be lying dead on the ground in no time, I hope this guide to killing molochs helps, it usually works on greater Molochs and almost every other monster in the game as well...

You cast your Acid Bolt at the thing several times.

There. Should work.

Molochs crush altars when they step on them :)

Oh yeah, and after that, your god will try and punish the moloch with a bolt of some sort, but if you're doomed, he might hit you :D

How to kill a Moloch, a beginners guide:

1) Check your level. Under 20? Then run.

2) Check your maximum potential damage, from ball spells or attacks. Under 50? Then run.

3) Check your Max HP. Under 300? Then run.

also check if you have teleportation+ healing spell. But why 300 HP? If you're a wizard or archer just kill him from a distance, even if you are not lv. 20

LarrackG - I've killed molochs with chars way under 20 (like a lvl 14-17 barbarians).
And in most fights with moloch and greater moloch never even land a hit on me - they're far too slow to hit a smart player.

(Greater) molochs are also vulnerable to high level magic missile (actually, just about anything is). My wannabe-archmage has magic missile at effectivity 104 something (yes, one hundred and four) and there are few monsters that can survive it, though extremely experienced ancient blue dragons (after killing 2000+ of them) suck up several shot before keeling over.

Maelstrom, I believe you, but I don't give advice designed for players who have beaten hundreds of the things, do I? ;)

But yeah, I amend this, it IS possible to beat a moloch with magic or archery. Highish level archers have that 20% ignore armor thing, which helps :)

My dark elven barbarian found an eternium sword of penetration on a chaos knight a few days back. This also helps :D
