Red weapons grant resistance(/immunity?) to fire and white weapons resistance(/immunity?) to cold, AFAIK. I found a broadsword of slaughtering once it weighed 80s and was (+1 2d9+1) and for my HE wizard I found a white eternium-shod quarterstaff of thunder. HUGE damage & cold resistance(/immunity?) anyone found red thundering eternium two-handed sword of slaughtering? maybe something like (+1 5d20+16) (a broadsword(1d7, wasn't it?) turned into (2d9) with of slaughtering-prefix) If someone doesn't know, weapons/items with pre- or suffix are called ego-items
