Yeah, i usually play as drakish bards, they are pretty strong too, and can spit acid. I once got a drakish bard whit 22 str! and i had a whole army of pets, but he died to a stone trap, waah! <xxxxo~~~~oxxxx> SWORDCHUK |

Gnomes are IMO the best race for bards: they can easily get 4 talents in the beginning=free seven league boots and can take alert to get treasure hunter=more items found. Then they have high mana = good luck, and they're bards = more good luck, so you'll probably find lots of good items. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. they're tougher than elven bards ;) i guess you'd have to rely a lot on the pets then. Taz: A potion of gain attributes (4s) is lying here. Suddenly a stone block hits your head! Something on the ground is smashed to pieces! PeanutGod: Awwww no! How harsh is that! This is where you need the artefact 'mop and bucket'. |

Yes, their quite weak, but start the game by going to the ID, level up a few times on levels 1&2 and scum the ID for some nice equipment, that should get you started. Gnomes are the fastest race to level up, so that helps a little too. Mewto, from the manual: "MANA: This attribute describes the luck of your character, his attunement to the forces of magic and his resistance to magic. Mana is a prime determinant for magical power." That oughta mean something. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.
