A quick way to find Demo Workshop is to just search it in Google. ;-)

Mewto means "Why not name a topic 'Help me!'". The answer, I'd guess, is that if you use a more informative subject, it lets the rest of us know whether we are likely to be able to contribute to your thread without having to read it.

(Jan, is there any chance of us moderators gaining the power to change the titles of threads?)

Dear @,

"Is there a patch that slowers jackals expirience gaining?"

would be a great name. And demo-workshop records demos, am i right?

if it's urgent, insert "URGENT"

if you're a noob insert "NOOB:"

Sincerely yours,
eL

I prefer simply avoiding jackal packs in the late game, and bolting jackalweres whenever possible. Using a patch would feel like cheating ...

PeanutGod: Awwww no! How harsh is that! This is where you need the artefact 'mop and bucket'.

Larrack believes that the whole 'killing things makes them stronger' is like survival of the fittest. It stops people hunting for certain kinds of corpses, too :)

Jackals are easy. The can't see invisible, they can't teleport, and no matter how good they get they don't resist ball spells. They're relatively slow and unprotected. Even high level jackals have PV in the tens.. And if all else fails, put on your seven league boots/cloak of invisibility and avoid them, perhaps?

Unless you get stuck in Big Room surrounded with horde of jackalweres and gazillion jackals with no teleportation or spells. Me thinks then in trouble :\

Do you enter the dwarvern halls at level five? Do you walk around in the water dragon caves without water breathing? Do you try to clear the small cave LATE in the game?

Don't enter the big room without on demand invisibility, teleportation, or hell good fighting skills.

Wouldn't it be logical that the more monsters of one type that you kill, the better you will be at it? For example, if you kill a bunch of jackals wouldn't you find out what their weakness is, the best spot to hit them, how to get by their defenses, and how to avoid thier attacks?

But this is just me.

Well, I've never had such a problem with jackals, but I just got a promising character ripped to shreds by damn BLINK DOGS . . . started with one of them on UD:1 (not a massively dangerous level?) and I took one step, boom, it summoned about 20 pals - each of those kept summoning more and very quickly the entire level was packed with them. By the time I died (two prayers, a !oUH, and two sets of armour later) I had killed 163 of them.
