I'm not for certain, but it could be that your god cant see anything you need help with...are you hurt, cursed, hungry, doomed, or on the top level of the ToEF (I believe if you pray, you will get a pick axe)? If not, then I believe that your god will ignore you if you pray. Try putting a holy symbol in the tool slot, then (u)se it. This will tell you of your standing with your diety. I think "the gods seem to ignore you" means that you're doomed, and you'll have to get rid of the dooming before you can pray. If you pray when nothing particular is wrong, the message is "Your prayer remains unheard". |
