I was wondering in which order would you put the order of the resistances by value and effectivness. People stabbed in the face don't talk much Mostly they just gurgle And bleed -Black Mage |

Assuming only elemental resistances...(not confusion, paralysis, sleep...) #1 Fire #2 Shock #3 Acid #4 Cold Of course fire and shock resistances are nessecary for the completion of quests...both are equal...but overall, it seems that you encounter more fire than lightning. But this is just me... "Not Zeus himself nor any other Power Shall save this madman who defies the Gods!"---Phoebus Apollo |

Actualy, cold can kill really fast on low levels, ogre magi and Nomak use it with devatstating effect. You won't need fire resistance in the early game, and anyway it's the easiest to get (eat any fire<foo> corpse). Personally, I never needed shock resistance, always got some kind of immunity-granting item by the time I got to Air Temple. Acid hurts really bad, I would put it up #1. Dragons, Slugs, even Ankhregs (or whatever those ankh-somthing bugs are called) can dish out lots of damage with their acid breath. My list of RESISTANCES (not immunities) would be: 1.Acid 2.Cold 3.Fire 4.Shock A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

I agree that Acid would top my list. Maelstrom list and reasons make sense. The kobold cringes in pain |

If you found a giant slug corpse, eat it - and you'll never have to worry about acid again... What do you Wish for?_ |

Giant slugs corpses are really rare, though... I've never got one. Are they worth spending time in DD:7 for? I usually try to get in and out as fast as possible to avoid walking into cats. |

Well, that depends...how much do you like acid immunity? |

Ahnkegs and ants are also a source of acid resistance. Anything you eat that says "Your stomach burns". The kobold cringes in pain |

I'm pretty sure acid resistance is "Your stomach tingles". Poison resistance is "Your throat feels very rough and your stomach burns". |

Yes, Acid resistance is easy to get, just talk to the little girl, go to the puppy cave and kill all of the guaranteed ants on the second level - at least one has to leave a corpse, and ant corpses give acid resistance. The message will be "You throw up. Your stomach tingles". A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train.
