ya, but its also an artifact :) i mean if youre going with spears as weapon and you have to fight rust monsters or slimes and jellies which corrode your equipment, its better than regular spears.....i think it also gives an immunity (cold i think which is pretty sucky too) there's better artifacts out there but not too bad for taking out jellies

Many artifact polearms are two-handed, TotRR, rune trident, wyrmlance, etc. So it's a decent weapon for anyone using polearms(as you should, it's the best weapon class).

If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

Cold immunity is very good for the early game, so it's a good artifact to get at the beginning. My DE wizard who closed the gate found the scorched spear in barnabas's shop, which was very helpful.

J. if going for normal ending it's not the best weaponclass if you stumble upon some skullcrushers or purifiers.. of vanquishers :p
But else.. yeah, sure they rock.. (a normally powered eternium spear beats scorched btw... atleast i had one with 3d8+8)

But then again, when l50 it really doesn't matter do you use that short sword 1d6 or that dickdude broadsword of dildoness 3d8... or it does matter, but not too much.. it's those bonuses that do the damage! not the rolls... :p

Sold that sucky spear =), got crowned with purifier. Completed the game using only that. Found skullcrusher on the way to D50. Paladins really rock! Its a good chance to get puriefier as a crowning gift.

how the hell is that even possible unarmed? Its simply not. it would be more along the lines of 1d18+30. im not sure how the "You have grown thorns" corruption factors in, but it wont give you 18d5+30 damage, even with a monk or beastfighter

"im not sure how the "You have grown thorns" corruption factors in"
It doesn't change a thing for Beastfighters and monks. It says "damage 3d3", not +2 damage dice. The class bonus and corruption bonus don't combine, the latter is simply ignored :(

*opens his winner beastfighter file*
1d36+73... so it's not a beastie.
*opens up his winner monk file*
1d58+49... it's not a monk either.

interesting case. but propably just a typo // accident.

btw beastfighters > monks.
end of discussion. the damages say it all (and that instakill kicks in pretty rarely.)

It depends on how you like to play. I can't stand playing stupid characters so I would never use beastfighters. But I have used drakish monks a bit, those are pretty good, they start with awesome skills.
