My most promising character so far has made a fatal mistake. He pissed off a
companion thats way too powerful for him. How i pissed him off? No idea...He
just likes to hurl stuff at my head.

I "Found" a greater earth elemental for a companion in DH:2. Where i also
killed my first Molach :) He dropped his armor as well, but i left that heavy
thing alone.

Someone thought i might need some combat practice so i took my Elemental friend
with me up to a certain Sparring arena, and entered the tournament. After a
few fights my nameless friend starting hurling boulders at me.

his description says he can do up to 244 damage in a blow!! more Hp than i
have. His boulders have also weakened me. I would like to finish the Arena,
and report my progress to a certain city official, but i either have to kill
the Elemental, or lead it off the level somehow without getting killed. I can
outrun the thing, as i have 15 more speed than him. But thats where the
boulders come into play... Can i somehow retame this guy?

My character is a level 18 gnomish fighter. wielding a hand axe of devestation, and some other good equipment. I have a wand of death with 3 charges, will this work on him? or can that be shrugged off... I also have an amulet of life saving, but id like to save that for Khelly

The PoEx is your best option, a DH2 summoned Greater Elemental is propably immune to death rays anyway.
Just pray that potion hits - a cat dodged my only potion not so long ago...

All i have to say is...Holy shit!

I drank my potion of Ultra healing to get back up to full health, and tried blasting it with the wand of death. Shrugged off all three charges. I had already engaged it in Melee so invisiblity wasnt an option. And i didnt have a way to bless my uncursed potion of exhchange.

I ran for the exit as fast as i could, forgetting that this guy could pass through walls >>

I tried to rest up after the first door closed, and he suprised the hell out of me. I made it to the next level, the big room with a whopping 1 hp!. So thankfully ive done everything on the surface i need to untill TOEF. Because im probly going to get slaughtered when i come back that way.

All companions will turn on you unless you are a bard. It usually happens if he/she/it can't see you or is left behind.

You think a mountain would have a little bit of patience... I pop into the arena for 5 seconds to slay a rat or something equally weak and he gets mad? Pfft

They are constructs, so death rays are useless against them (well, I'm not sure, maybe they give some damage). This would have a good point if you encountered a greater undead greater vault while it still was a pet, GEE can kill those emperor liches easily.

Unless the PC is a bard or a necro, a companion out of line of sight will eventually turn hostile.

Wearing a blessed amulet of protection from constructs will reduce the chance of critical hits.

A good rule of thumb for companions is to lure them off level if you need to do some solo work (shopping, harvesting, etc.).

GEE's are one of the most dangerous pets since they are out of LOS so often.
