It's near the TotHK, in the rift, but be careful, because you will fall down when trying to climb down and you may get some stuff destroyed. Just keep climbing up through the rift until you find a level with two up-staircases, one will get you to the level above and the other one will get you to a location surrounded by unclimbable mountains, and the library "I don't know what World War 3 will be fought with, but I know World War 4 with be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |

Wizards find every spellbook in the library, so it's a must for wizards. In my opinion it's a must for anybody, even though other classes find fewer books. You need 100 climbing to climb down the rift, so it's good to train climbing as early as possible. Digging holes and climbing out of them is a good way. You will almost certainly fall when trying to climb down (unless you have the weight-lowering corruptions) so leave all wands, potions, missiles and scrolls somewhere safe before climbing down, such as on the first level of the TotHK. Scrolls don't get destroyed as often so it's good to bring 1 SoCR, and remember your thick gauntlets. If your climbing set gets destroyed on the fall, you need to buy another one from the ratling dealer who can be found on the bottom level of the rift. He'll sell for 50000 coins. Find him quick before other monsters kill him. If you spend 2000 turns in the library with 100 stealth and without chatting with any monsters, you can get the weird tome from the ghost librarian by talking to him. Give this to the mad minstrel for 5 cursed SoCR. Also, cast magic map in the library so you don't miss any secret rooms. Okay, that's everything important I can think of. |
