this kinda continues 'xp and speed'...

i also needed the levels for the filk quest some games ago, and wished for emperor molochs (plural gives more of those "little" bastards) in the old barbarian glade. the character was female human barbarian ~ lvl40 with vanquisher, so the greater molochs were not actually a problem, but one interesting thing happened: they dropped quite many hulking armors, and a certain greater moloch ended up wielding one.. my speed was around 300, but still he ran up to me and hit like 6 to 8 times in turn! my hp dropped to 13 in one turn, so luckily i had the change to teleport away.

i don't know if that's a bug or if it's meant to be so, but anyways it scared the crap out of me..

primmm...

Hulking armour is very heavy so it would slow you down not speed you up. So my guess is that's a bug.

Oh it's denfenetly a bug...

IMHO it's a bit wierd that Molocs (of any kind) can equip armor anyway, I mean they all wear Moloc armor by default... But then again if you are going to start making exceptions like that things get complicated fast (a lot of monsters supposedly have sertain equipment already (swordmen for example)).

molochs are very slow. If they equip moloch armor, they will get a speed and dext below 0.
With means that their speed loops. (They get around 9999 in speed) :/

O_o

Would that be possible for a player to achieve? Like... possible exploit? Eep?

Even boots of the slow shuffle PLUS moloch armor will only lower your speed by 50 or so, being Strained! + Bloated by another 25... No, I don't think you can even reach values lower than, say, 20, so I don't think this is a bug YOU can exploit.

Even if you did manage to do it, it's like piety overflow. Could be considered cheating.

How about slow monster spell or slowing from WMoPCs then equipping those items and getting strained! and bloated. Speed should then drop lower than 0. At least theoretically.

Maybe play a drakeling and get frozen near solid, then equip moloch armor and boots of slow shuffle?

That might happen, but the game might do something to stop your speed from dropping to say, less then 10. Can't you also drink cursed potions of speed? That might work. Someone should try this.

Speed can't go below 10 as far as I'm aware. Anyway, the actual overflow thing with creatures wearing moloch armour is from Dexterity, not speed. The min for any character on Dex is 1, so it can't be abused.

monsters have dexterity stat? i think that speed makes more sense.

i'd say that if your base speed is ~120 or even bit more u *can* drop it below zero (in theory) by casting slow monster (this _halves_ your speed), wearing boots of the slow shuffle and moloch armor, and optionally get bloated or strained.
so this supa-dupa-mega-bug can probably work, but u'll seemingly have 2 cast slow over and over again=)

i *will* test that wit my L50 female hurthling merchant, all i need is those boots, so right now i'm gremlin-scumming for a wish 2 spare

I'll continue with the hulking armor-theme...

I was wondering why I couldn't hit a revenant in melee (+70 to hit on normal tactics). Then I checked the 'm' option while looking at the monster. He had dv of like "18302866" :S

As I suspected, that damned thingy had picked up and probably equipped that damn armor.

Luckily I had burning hands-spell :)
