* Be invisible * Be resistant to a lot of things * Have improved fireball * Or ball spell +high willpower * Or good archery skill and undead slaying ammo ...anything else? |

..wow. That's nasty. Emperor liches see invisible, so that won't help. Improved fireball at a very high level with plenty of PP might take a few of them out but they'd summon stuff very quickly. If you are going to get close to them remember they paralyse in melee. What do you wish for? wands of cat repellent_ |

Happened to me too once. Luckily I had Sun's messenger then. Just teleport there. Ignore them. Don't attack in melee, they'll just drain your stats. The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt. |

Invisibility is to avoid all the guys the emperors summon. So that in addition to the other points |

If they are in a room there are various methods to stop them summoning, just the fact that they are in a room should limit summoning to the corridors... If you block them off using a door you can cast AcidBall with impunity outside. |

Actually, more importantly than any of this, have death ray resistance. And, like Ashandarei said, don't attack them, it is just not worth it. Use teleportation. |

um ... my char was so confused before he could even react ... and he sleep-walked towards to bunch of emperor liches, like a zombie, like a sheep, and be drained, bit-by-bit ... withered as a dried corpse |

Important to have confusion resist things.. like rings of clear mind etc etc to help you get over confusion if you do fight them. Otherwise have high willpower. At willpower 60 you shouldn't get confused at all. |
