Hammerhead is also a possible crowning gift for dwarves of any class. Likewise Sun's messenger for high or grey elves. What do you wish for? wands of cat repellent_ |

Once I was going through the unremarkable dungeon, and it was disappointing. Level after level gave no "you feel excited" messages. Then, with no vaults, and only one chance left for one, I went down to UD:8... "You feel a surge of power!" Hammerhead. |

Have you done the quests for the dwarf elder? IIRC you get a fireproof blanket as a reward for one of them, among other things... If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Try clearing out the general stores (Leggot, Barnabas, Waldenbrook). They often seem to stock fireproof blankets. What do you wish for? wands of cat repellent_ |

I went to the Endless Cave in order to find a blanket/ring of ice... by the time I reached ID 20 I found as much as four... WATERPROOF blankets. DAMN. |

You can dip them into potions of raw chaos (dangerous) or blessed potions of exchange and transform them into fireproof if you need to. Bless it when you get it so it's much less likely to be destroyed. |
