Recently I read either here of r.g.r.a (can't remember which place and by whom, sorry) about using scrolls of repair to mass-bless items. Apparently reading a blessed scroll of repair not only fixes an item but also blesses it, making it very useful for mass-blessing e.g. ammunition. I tried it on some missiles and it did indeed work. The method is simple: 1. Read a *CURSED* scroll of repair and select something from inventory. As a result the item or heap of items will be broken. 2. Read a *BLESSED* scroll of repair and select the item/heap of items. As a result it will now be blessed and unbroken. I thought about using it on items other than ammunition. I first tried it on a heap of 10 uncursed (or run-of-the-mill as I have it) plain blankets weighing 100 s. After reading the cursed scroll of repair I was a tad surprised to find in my inventory: heap of 10 broken run-of-the-mill plain blankets That's right, *BROKEN* blankets. Next I read the blessed scroll of repair and lo-and-behold - I now had: heap of 10 blessed plain blankets But wait, it gets better. Next I decided to try it on scrolls. I didn't want to potentially lose some useful scrolls so I tried it on a heap of 9 scrolls of amnesia. After reading a cursed scroll of repair I suddenly had: heap of 10 run-of-the-mill broken scrolls of amnesia Whoops ! And yes, after reading the blessed scroll I had 10 blessed scrolls of amnesia. As if that wasn't strange enough I then decided to try the trick on *POTIONS*. I had a heap of some 57 uncursed potions of healing. Guess what I had after reading the cursed scroll of repair ? Yes: heap of 57 run-of-the-mill broken potions of healing ...and after reading the blessed scroll they were blessed... J. Sytytä toiselle tuli ja hän pysyy lämpimänä jonkin aikaa. Hah. Interesting. Do the items have to be broken before reading blessed scroll? Doesn't reading only blessed scroll bless the item? Does this work in 1.1.1? The rust monster touches your blessed Trident of the Red Rooster. Nothing happens. You laugh at the monster's pitiful attempt. |

Cool. Did you try reading a broken scroll or drinking a broken potion? There's got to be something in this game that would be absolutely hilarious with "broken" in front of it. I just tested if this bug (?) works with version 1.1.1. Well, it DOES work. I currently have a broken potion of exchange in my inventory. I could try drinking that potion and see what happens... Mewto: if you had one blessed and 9 unblessed ones before using the scrolls the yes, I believe you would have 10. But it won't increase the amount.
