I have teleportisis (gratis corruption), and I'm about to try and get the RotHK. I have no form of teleport control, and I'm afraid I'll be teleported into the evil river of piranahs. Does teleportisis jump you anywhere, or only onto dry ground?

(BTW, I have a HE Archer, only about 144 hp)

Not to worry, the teleportitis is completely blocked in the TotHK as well as the elemental temples. You won't teleport there, even if you wanted.

Nah, corruption is nothing much.
Whereas if you take a sip from a pool and get teleportitis - you're in for life !!! Except you drink from pool another 50+ times...
You cant even read an advanced book in peace, that is, in corruption free area.

Teleportitis is usually a blessing.
Its good for non-magical classes (never kicks in when you REALLY need it though...

Isn't the assassin's guild non-corruptiong? Its the lowest of the non-teleporting areas anyway.
Most books are easy enough to read even with teleportitis. Wish is of course not, but not many of the others are a problem. Mabye earthquake and heal and death ray (some more mabye?)
Other books you can just try a few read from, and youll get spell-knowledge eventually.
Or just gather up 50 books and read em all in the guild.

It may seem like total hell to walk around with teleportitis and no control, but it really is just annoying (VERY annoying), not game-killing. The availibility of blink dog corpses is of course inversely propotional to your annoyance with teleportitis, so if you APPEAR to not bother too much about uncontrolled teleportation, the game will soon grow tired of taunting you, and throw a blink dog pack your way.
(Wonder how Thomas B. managed to code it that way)

One question was raised here though, "Does teleportitis jump you anywhere, or just dry land?"
-I'd have to say dry land only. I've never been landed in a river in 1.1.0 or 1.1.1. Have anyone?

Teleport-free areas:
Elemental temples.
D:49 (I think?)
Tomb of the High King
Cat lord level
Assassins-guild.

Did I miss any?

Yeah, Cat Lord Level allows for teleports in 1.1.1.

A realist sees a train.
And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks.

When I tried to read a scroll of teleportation on the Cat Lord level in winbeta 4 it only turned to dust(the scroll that is)

I'm sure I teleported on that level, just next to an artefact guardian, and got trapped between him and the cat lord...

sheesh. Whoever said corruption wasn't annoying...

This is the first character I've ever had who has been corrupted. First teleportitis, and now I'm extremely light, and my strength dropped to 14! So I dropped, like, everything, but I'm getting bloody sick of it! How am I supposed to carry the logs down into the last level to build the bridge across to the island??

Oh, there are other ways of freezing the lake. In my latest victory game I used an ogre magus for that. Wearing the AMW and having decent armor made it laughably easy. I just strolled around the level, letting the OM zap those cold bolts at me and simultaneously freezing the water. Once the lake was completely frozen over I finished off the OM and fetched the ring.

And where to find that OM ? Just stroll around the preceeding level and one will come up eventually.

tong: Yes, they are. That wasn't problem for my beastfighter, though, and shouldn't be a problem for other relatively tough PC's either.
