are they some kind of "instant-slay-spells"?
wich only know "dead" or "miss"??

(asking because i hit the Ancient Chaos Wyrm with the DeathRay (P+4) one time (did not shrug off!), but he just kept on living. All other "test-objectīs" until that droped dead instantly or shruged it off.)

so is there a damage dice for these spellīs? where can i see/find it?
(++ and in general: where can i examain the "spellīs statisticīs", how many hits needed till adwance and stuff like this??)

what kind of "monsters" are able to resist DeathRays? (Ancient Dragonīs too???)

Bsssssssssttt... Shrrrrrrrrom....

hmmmmmm....

As I've said some where, likely unique monsters are immune to it. If you wish to see the spell statistic (advance points I guess), simply look at your spell power. You need to cast a spell a (spellpower + 1)*modifier times to advance it. The modifier here is you class. Brute force classes has modifier = 3, divine classes have modifier = 2 for arcane spells and 1 for divine spells, arcane classes have modifier = 1 for arcane spells and 2 for divine spells.

Have fun adooming :)

Likely, not immune, just too much hits.
Since in 1.1.1 its even impossible to know formulae for damage...not listed in the manual like before.

Especially for Dispel Undead, damage is not listed at all. In the beginning you can instantly say something like Wight or Ghost Lord, when you hit 20s it requires 2 casting and so on. What exactly does it do i have no idea.

Does Adom Sage list the damage correctly for Destroy Undead?

In the beginning, Wights and Ghost Lords have low hp as well.

"In the beginning, Wights and Ghost Lords have low hp as well."

Same can be said about Death Ray, that its not really "Death"

Deathray sure is useful against the AKW atleast in 1.0.0 (don't know if he is immune in 1.1.1)

I think it's an instant-kill for most monsters. Those that resist it take a ton of damage (which will probably kill them anyway) or are just immune.

And I think Dipsel Undead just does a bog load of damage to undead (At least that's what it did in an older version)

Ah, it doesnt matter if it kills or whatever, but its just not feels right, when every spell have damage listed, but that one doesnt.

Tell D&D to have dmg score for their "Hold Person" and we shall have dmg score for our "Death Ray"!

Seriously, how on earth could those save-or-die spells have dmg listed for them?

Those are NOT save of die spells. Dispel Undead deals damage, just like Harm and Heal in D&D v3.5 do.

well, recently i tried to hack a greater black wyrm w/ my death ray (don't remember spell power; currently playing a 34 level gray elf wiz, Ma 54, Wi 52, no scumming involved;) and after several trials i discovered it doesn't impress the monster. regular dragons, even ancient, drop dead after 1 or 2 hits from this spell, so i think that some major creats are immune to the death ray. i didn't manage to discover anything interesting about the dispel/destroy undead spell...
