What is x-slayer or arrows of x-slaying actually do ? Does that simply mean that all hits will be "full force" ? And how many times more exactly is this "full force" compared to normal attacks ? I wonder if Vanquisher is such an uber-weapon...

Also, just who is considered humanoid ? Any exact lists ?

Yes, every hit with a slaying weapon/ammo is a full force/critical hit (not to be confused with hiting and criticali wounding a monster, which is just a message about the enemy's hit points).
Not sure exacly how much more damage it does, but it works ;)

Humanoids are:
Every humanoid (duh!) - all "g", "@", "h", "u"
Every Giant - "H"
Every demon - "&", "I"
Most undead - "L", "Z" and "z" for sure, not sure about "G"
Golems maybe ("Y"), not sure, but I think I scored full force hits with Serpent's bite on Flesh Golems and Clay golems...

Isn't the "full force" message the one you get from a successful Find Weakness roll?

So far you have only killed one wild cat.

Yeah. You don't need find weakness to get a "full force" hit, that skill increases the chance to get one. And some items to the same thing (ring of the master cat, braces of war, some weapons).

and summing everything up vanquisher is and everything-slayer... full force hits every freaking time. neat. but it does tend to give people a god complex that gets you killed.

"Every humanoid (duh!)"
Yeah ? How about Chaos servants ? Various slayers ? Invisible stalkers ??

"vanquisher is and everything-slayer"
Its not a plant slayer. :) Not a bug-slayer too.

No, it's not an "everything slayer", not only is doesn't slay bugs and plants, it also does not slay animals and fantasy animals (Snake From the Beyond).

Oh, forgot about Orcs, Ogres, most Chaos Beings and so on. Most stuff is a humanoid, so a humanoid slayer will do just about as good as Vanquisher.

with my elven archer I made a bundle of 20 arrows of slaying.

X's of slaying slay everything...there wasn't a monster that didn't get whacked by those things.

I prefer to use blessed trees(no idea if the blessed helps though)

Trees sometimes make 30+ arrows

1 stick sometimes makes arount 8-15 arrows.

this can vary though...its been quite a while since i played an archer.

And I didn't even know you could use logs...
I just tested and my testing-archer ("Fletch") got 24 arrows from a stick with fletchery 75-80 or so. So one should be able to get plenty with maxxed skill and a log.

All this talk of archers makes me want to give the archer another shot.

I was just thinking about a bundle of 80 blessed arrows of slaying....Grins with deranged evil intent :)

"And I didn't even know you could use logs..."

IIRC, the manual said logs are just big sticks ;)

Hi Guys. I started a new archer, with all this talk about slaying ammo I couldn't help it.

Anyways, my archer was lev 9 with ~90 in fletchery. and I created a bundle of 27 arrows of slaying from a log...on my first try. How lucky is that...I think the RNG is going to kill me now! without the lev 18 power( or whatever level the fletch skill comes into play) I have been getting about 25-40 arrows from logs and 10 - 20 from sticks. It does get alot better once you get thea class power. I definately feel that 80 arrows from a log is possible. anyways enough of my rambling...Archers Rock
