I'm about to enter the ToEF now... But I don't got enough fire protection... Only Ring of High Kings and Elemental Gaunts. I am not intrinsically fire resistant. I have no means of teleporting. I also lack a fireproof blanket! The question is, where do I get the following equipment? -Rings of fire resistance -Fireproof blankets -Wands of teleporting |

You could eat corpses to gain fire resistance. Once you have the intrinsic, you can go through the tower wearing the ring and gauntlets and not get hurt by the flames. There's a wand of teleportation in the second level of the assassin's guild. Fireproof blankets are sorta random, but you should run into them soon enough. If you don't want to bother getting one, you could just leave all your junk at the barbarian's glade and just walk into the tower with artifacts. I'm level 19 hurthling archer. Got 9 blessed arrows of dragon slaying. Should I first clear the air temple and train a bit, before entering the tower? |

Blessed blankets, unless "Ye art doomed!" seem to survive ToEF infinitely. Have Lucky + Fate smiles, wear Ankh - one blanket should be enough. I personaly done ToEF having 3 in my pack, and left the place with all 3. However, I think you've done ToEF already :) Ubi patria ibi bene! |

It's not a bad idea to go through the air temple and whatnot to train and possibly pick up something useful for the tower. On the other hand, you could probably get through the tower just fine, but you might want to level up a little just to be sure. (You have to do the ToEF to get to the Air temple). " I personaly done ToEF having 3 in my pack, and left the place with all 3. " - Yeah this is very typical of this game. The game will let this happen a fwe times, and next time you will think that 1 is enough. And this is when the hidden RNG-AI will kick in and burn away that single blanket at the worst possible time. Im currently working on the Troll mindcrafter (challenge game :) and he managed to find two 7lbs withing 20 minutes. Ive worn the 1st pair ever since, and they have tanken a "Hell of a beating" (to quote Bjorge Lillelien). They've been tried electrocuted, burnt, dissolved, smashed, and ripped apart by explosives, but are as good as new. The reason for this is that the RNG knows I have a spare. If I hadn't however I would surely have lost my boots to the first trapped door... (Ok, it's just random chance. But sure feels like it's not...) |

I believe i have posted a story on here about a Dwarven Barbarian of mine who got 3 fireproof blankets toasted in the ToEF and lost so many critical items at critical times (like my wand of tele and a wand of cold)... that i felt it was comical enough to post. So the moral of the story is that the RNG will screw you over at every opportunity. I've learned my lesson. Always being 2 blessed fireproof blankets into the ToEF. While many times you enter with the same amount that you leave with, the tower CAN and will burn them. |

Then why wouldn't you just wear a blessed ring of ice? It would kick RNG on the butt by reducing it's chances to burn anything by 10 times, and thus making 2 blankets absolutely sufficient. I got fire immunity, a blessed RoIce, 2 fireproof blankets, spellbooks of ice ball and bolt. but I only have 96 pp. I could drink some of my 4 PobM. but I lost my AoRH which sucks. got teleport spell and control. |

Right. To get to that place I'll have to fail "forrest" quest. I'll try my luck in tomb of high kings. Mayhap in those caves... anyway, I got postcrowned with "Ironfist", got to 20 lvl just in big room, and got *very' angry at that damned dwarf already... At least I have a RoI for ToEF... Just one RoI? Damn! Drakish priests seem to be unlucky despite being crowned and wearing Ankh... Ubi patria ibi bene! |
