hehe... but it's funny: you complete his quest, and he gives you some stuff (that is also one reason: IIRC he doesn't give you Needle if you kill him), and says something like "I'll be grateful to you forever", anyway, right after that you just cast Death Ray, and get some more stuff! hehe. You can kill him anyway after completing his quest and still have "he/she killed arch-enemy of mighty karmic wyrm" noted. Prior to 1.0 it was possible to order killing of female great water dragon by your pet and still have been noted "he/she made a little water dragon very happy".
