So last night my Trollish Mindcrafter met his untimely demise in prison (see the upcoming memorial file for what this means; the name is Runge), and while I was playing I noticed a few things. 1. Why don't pit vipers attack monsters that trigger the trap? They always head straight for my character. 2. Why are there more than one Golden Gladii? Bart had two, Thrundarr one (?), and Dak one as well. If the Golden Gladius is an artifact, wouldn't that mean only one would be in existence? 3. What's so hard about Trollish Mindcrafters, anyway? My Mindcrafter was doing quite well. 4. Why can't wands of teleportation be prayed for WHEN YOU ACTUALLY NEED ONE? May thy wisdom be omnipresent. |

1) Sometimes they do, but usually they go for the PC, just like all hostile monsters. 2) There is only one Golden Gladius named "Death's Sting" - the other most likely had diffrent names. 4) Because you're god prefers to laugh at your demise :P A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

1) Most monsters are 'parceltongue', so they charm the snakes to attack you instead. 2) Yeah. See Gladiator again, a golden gladius is bestowed every once in a while. (or wooden gladius in the film) 3) Quite well - but he didnt make it did he? Trolls are the suck overall for their slow levelling. Means you can't get the highlevel benefits soon enough. But you can play it as a warrior, aided with confusion. 4) There is one guaranteed wand of teleport. And booze is both easy to come by, and cheap. But if it should get destroyed - mabye "custom prayers" are an idea for improvement of the game..:) [Edited 1 time, last edit on 7/20/2005 at 14:22 (GMT -5) by Molach] |

"Quite well - but he didnt make it did he?" He would have if I didn't get myself stuck in the Dwarven Mystic's room. "And booze is both easy to come by, and cheap." What good does booze do? May thy wisdom be omnipresent. |

Well, it gives color to the world, for one. And it recharges wands. Just dip and spray. http://tankefel.blogspot.com/ So far you have only killed one wild cat. |

Now they tell me. I could have used a potion of booze on my wand of trap creation and tried the other tile in the Dwarven Mystic's room... May thy wisdom be omnipresent. |

btw, about booze - you can trade it for random potions. just give booze to the fool (any amount) and he'll drop an equal quantity of randomly generated drinks. it's quite likely to get a poga or a poex this way... What do you wish for? *THUMBS* EM_ Silence. Silence. .... *THUMB* *THUMB* *THUMB* You die... |
