Well the title kind of says it. I have no experience in programming and I have absolutely no idea where should I start. And I really want to make my own RL! Can somebody more experienced guide me a bit or something? Hey, thanks. ;)

Maybe you should start with something easier.
I have pretty much no experience in programming, and the farthest I've gotten was with QB and it was to have a moving "@" that could pick up items that were randomly placed on the screen, but the map wasn't random, just one room that I'd created and the items just disappeared, never bothered to continue with it, since programming doesn't seem to be my thing

Well, you first need to make a game mechanics (D&D rules for instance), then a game engine, then embed your mechanics into the engine, then finally add a story.

It is a zilion times harder than it sounds, as far as my experience tells.

Or if you wanna see something easy-to-read, try JADE's documentation.

1. Make a game plot
2. Decide on gameplay features(items, NPC's, special places)
3.Create the whole world( walls, buildings, dungeons in game)
4. Add in NPC's and talk command so you can test it.
5.Add in random ____ generator formula's.
6. Add in game physics(ie attack defense speed time formulas)
7. Pace yourself

I started making one using BlitzBasic..I have an old version that freely distributed. It's got to be one of the easiest programming langauges in existance that still gives you total control. The version I have is no longer available on the Blitz website, but I believe I'm free to pass you a copy as it's the free version (I'll have to dig through the liscence agreement first)
You can even take the alpha code of my game, but it'll look bewildering if you have no coding experiance. I've halted work on it cos it got too slow calculating line of sight, probably cos my code is inifficent and BB is slow, but you can move around, open doors an attack monsters. And scientists get eaten by the monsters. It was gonna be kinda like Half-Life the roguelike.

Yes... no news from Echo's progress :)
However that is easily understandable... I started myself coding my own roguelike... back in 2001!
... and it is not yet finished :)

You still working on it? I get the urge to have another go at it from time to time. The world needs a truly great sci-fi roguelike :)

Well, seeing as to how he has a verse from the bible, I doubt that if he is christian, he would take his own life. It's in the bible to not take your own life.

Yeah, well the bible has a lot of rules that Christians toss out the window when the mood takes them :)
