this grok character in HOF it is said in the .flg he scummed with holy slayers, could anyone describe what it means? making the deity angry until he sends them, but what makes them so special? also, in the same .flg he said he got past the eternal guardian (sth like that) without the ring by using a powerful pet, how is this done? thanks so much. |

Dunno about the slayers (nothing makes them special i suppose, it's just free xps and drops), but the guardian is killed by a powerfull pet without getting angry, and moving from the stairs. Simple as that. It can be done even without a pet if you're strong enough, but most people aren't. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Holy slayers might have been annoying diety in HMV until slayers came, then attacking them from the safety of the island with spells/missles. Oh, and by the way, could you attack the EG with a pet, and have him chase your pet while you descend? Give a man a fire, and he will be warm for a day. Light a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life. |

BB, that won't work. When you attack the EG your pet will attack him too. And the pet cannot be ordered to do anything before the opponent(s) have been dispatched. Nice idea, tho! Edit: Oops, that is in fact very possible. Just lead the pet over the stairs and :swap. Sorry :). Edit2: One thing tho, the EG will still follow you down the stairs and kill you if you don't have some way to teleport or high speed. Having a low piety towards a lawful god causes a lot of holy slayers to be generated in dungeons. If you piss off the god by praying, solars are summoned, not slayers. At least in earlier versions of the game, this might have been changed. You know you've played too much ADOM when you try to throw coins at people wearing similar clothes as yourself. |
