I just brought new meaning to the term "shoplifting" when I robbed the casino. I literally took every single item in the gift shop. :-) Anyone else ever do this? -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. Gimme some credit... ;-)) |

I would assume most experianced players have. But it's better to move everything into a corner and let him restock it. DougyDougy - Dougy - DougyDougy |

oh. This is the first time I've ever robbed the gift shop. I thought I'd done something amazing by taking everything. :-( *sacrifices to the God of Newbie. Gets post-crowning.* -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. Gimme some credit... ;-)) |

Well if you haven't got the Strenght of Altas/Lordly might spell, it's often quite an acomplishment to physicaly carry all the loot without a lot of carrying and/or weight reducing eq. But then that's what merchants are good at isn't it :) Jan Erik Mydland HoF admin |

That's what merchants, trolls and people who wear Girdles of Carrying are good at, and I'm all three. I ought to learn "Strength of Atlas" and cast it on myself, just to see how high I can get my carrying capacity. -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. Isn't charisma important with merchants Amanda? I wouldn't of though troll would be appropiate but they can carry a hell of a lot more that other races. |

No, appearance is what's important (I think), which is bad since trolls are butt-ugly, but still you combine their strength with merchant's carrying abilities and you have a huge carrying capacity, and you get literacy, appraising, detect item status and in my case alchemy (all useful skills). -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. Charisma is only important for bards, and people to have lots of "normal" companions (necromancers don't count). Apearance helps a little with shop prices, but it's not critical. Strenght and Thoughles are a lot more important. You can always raise the extra money at mome point, but out in the dungeons it won't help to know that you'll be a good looking corpse... Which is why trolls in general are cool. Me ugly, but me strong. :-) -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. Gimme some credit... ;-)) |

Yeah they're tough, and the athletics + food preservation skills are nice as well, but given the xp thing and incredible hunger, I almost invariably favor orc over them when I want to play a biff type. |

Hmmm... How about LV50 trollish healer born in the month of Candle, wearing BoW and crown of regeneration, all stats at 99, two weapon combat, tactics and find weakness at 100, daggers at grand mastery dual-wielding needle and sting. I guess such a char would be pretty much unstoppable (IIRC BoW grants death ray resistance)... |

I don't always play trollish merchants, but they're one of my favorite race/class combinations, so I play them often. This one was specifically created because of my character in the roleplaying thread. -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. Gimme some credit... ;-)) |
