I found a "bloody pool", and when I drank from it I heard a voice calling me "Iceberg". The I drank a few more times and wound up dying of acute blood-poisoning. What's going on here? |

Since this is the spoiler section: The message is just a random pool effect, it's got nothing to do with the kind of pool. If you meet scertain requirements (lawfull and level 20 or something I think) you can get that barbarian guy (brown @ the name escapes me) in the High mountain vilage as a companion if you say "Iceberg" to him. Also, you can't get him as your companion if you haven't actually got the Iceberg pool effect in that game. And the level requirement is 25ish for non-trolls. You mustn't be chaotically aligned. |

Actually, the Guidebook states the player(*not* the PC) must know the password. I've gotten Hawkslayer myself once, and I (the guidebook-spoiled brat I was and still am) just typed "Iceberg" when he asked me for the password. Don't remember whether I got "Iceberg" from a pool in that game, but I don't think it would have made a difference either way. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd! |

That's correct, you don't need to get the message to be able to get Hawkslayer as a companion, *you* just have to know it "I don't know what World War 3 will be fought with, but I know World War 4 with be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein |
