I've read in a few threads how some charaacters hack their way thru all of the Mana Temple Inhabitants to get to nuragwhatever, I've found if you just get his attention from the door way with ranged spells or whatever and then run around the side tunnels he'll chase you down and 90% of the MT inhabitants will stay where they were. This is good for lack of corruption, also monks (and beatfighters?) can swap with hostiles so thats even easier to do.

I tried doing that, but the little sissy started wetting himself and ran to take cover. I could have tried luring him out more, I suppose, but I had him at a nice standoff up until he got critical damage. So, I just mopped up all the baddies and took him out that way. You're right, though, that is a good tactic.

And what if he becomes blocked by WoMPC of whatever? Can he squeeze past them? If yes - that'd really be all too easy.

I use to do that every time i get there; I lure him out, then i stomp the rest of the critters just for the experience points.

But that may be because I've only gotten there with classes that can cast spells with some efficiency..

Improved Fireball + Farsight + Neclace of the eye + high Pe are an answer :)
I wonder if a paladin has chance to learn improved firabell by the time of MT.

I usually lure him out, grap the thing, then flee fast.

There was one occation when my power mage smoked him in the crowd without me noticing till the end, though. I remember that time, I got to melee a dozen or so chaos creatures at the end to get the thing. Got 1 PoCC on the go, but just that was not enough >.<

if Nurrag starts to run just hit him with a missle. Any moster is garanteed to lose its affraidness if being shot by a missle. Besides arrows/quarrels of huminoid slaying/of slaying will kill nurrag pretty quickly. its the same thing with all of the really hard monsters. here is 8 ways to deal with a tough monster

1. stun/paralisis especially in a doorway where no other monsters can get in the way and a good meele atack kills almost anything.

2. arrows of [type] slaying.

3. arrows of slaying.

4. meele artifact that slays.

5. spells.

6. run.

7. attack foolishly.

8. die

AND - what kind of IRON RATION weights as much as an iron shield?! A dinner for four, oven included? ;)"

9. Save game the moment you see it, then make a thread called:" OMGF, I encountered a <foo>. What to do???" in adom.brinkster.net
