Slb, of course. You should wear both and try it in front of an enemy. You'll see the difference.

Note: Although slb makes you run a lot faster, it doesnt make you faster in melee. But, anyway, slb is the way to go.

Depends on what you are doing. If you are running for your life, 7lb is your choice. If you need to nullify the speed of a fast creature you cannot outrun, however, the boots of speed are a better choice.

In general, though, 7lb is better due to the fact that it reduces travel time and lets you run away from unexpected encounters..

Q: You should wear both
Sure, it would be great to have a 'centaur' race able to wear two pairs of boots at a time.
And 'naga'.. But It would be too cool to wield two shields and four swords at once.

Nchurmdaz, since I'm unsure if that was a joke: I think he meant try one pair, remove them, and try the other.

If it was a joke, ignore my post :)

I think it is half joked.
What he meaned was to keep both and use one at a time, depending on the circumstance (running/fighting). The rest is just for the fun of the old timers :)

Since the situation seems to be resolved, I'll resist the urge to make a witty comment :)

First, the %'s I list are only valid for a 100-speed character, and not totally accurate for them either. But close enough. Percentages get higher with lower natural speed, and vice versa.

7lbs only give extra movement. (But they give a lot), 50%. Movement in wilderness divided by 6. (Of course they are blessed, eh)

Boots of speed give general speed, which gives
increased movement and faster actions (including attacks of course). Increase is only 8% though.

So when travelling, especially in wilderness, use the boots. When you are stopping to battle consider using speed boots. Do not do this if you feel you might need a quick getaway. Missile characters should mostly use the boots for the fire-retreat-fire trick you can do with them.

Centaurs would not be able to use boots, cuz they have "hooves" instead. But they could wear a "blessed saddle of movement" or something. And then they could carry other characters around.

Chars with 'hooves' corruption still can wear boots :D

About centaur - it's certainly a joke.

You don't need to be a centaur to wear one SLB and one boot of speed. Although I guess it would be really difficult to go when your legs move at different speeds.
