Finally heres what I picked up from the exe regardin the weird tome:
This book is filled with strange texts written in weird letters.
You have difficulties concentrating on the text. You try for a while but finally surrender
in a pretty confused state
Alternete messages:
After a while you manage to focus your sight on the text
Your understanding of the art of reading is too incomplete to understand the
text. The tome seems to contain strange tunes you don't understand. The text contains a strange collection of tunes, songs and instrumental pieces.have no idea, what all this means. It seems to be some kind of code, hinting at some ancient powerful magic, a scroll or something like that...
fail to decipher it.
If the char was lucky n had 100 music n 100 literacy:
It describes a means to find the scroll of omnipotence. You have to %s to find it.

Wonder if it's real or a red herring? Which version of the game was this? I have a save-state editor for gamma 15, I can try reading the tome with that.

I found the same in both the g15 n g16pr2 exe 's.For some strange reason I havent been able to find this yet in the 1.0.0 exe.Ill try it again later.
IIRC yes Amanda you can use Wadomf(assuming that whats youre using) to get the weird tome.Remeber to first change your literacy and music to 100.

the scroll of omnipotence is probably one of the legends based on the TotRR mentioned by Khelavaster. You all have read the "strange message" in the sealed room in the HMV, right?

Who thinks that the Scroll of Omnipotence exists?
Yes  No

I for one dont believe it exists.

Let me reprase that poll.
Kelly calls it a foolish legend that surrounds the crumpled scroll.

has anyone read the weird tome on their birthday? with tons of luck and all that stuff? just like scintillating cave the red rooster inn could be waiting on a set of circumstances to make it accessible. i think the inn is findable, maybe the soo is crap i dunno but reading the weird tome is involved i bet and so is the map shaped like america.

It doesn't exist... yet. I've gone through all the items in the game (by the way, all three raw steel artifacts already exist), and no SoO. There's a string that you are supposed to see when you read it (either you die or gain "god-like" powers), too.

Stas...YOUR ALIVE!!!
well, after much searching in the .exe, im fairly confident that niether the SoO or the Red Rooster Inn exist as findable places or items. (these conclusions being reached by examing closely variable patterns around know locations, references in other arease, etc.) There just isnt enough code surrounding the RRI to make it a findable place. The SoO doesnt have any set effects. Again, its educated speculation, i could be wrong, but as far as i can tell, they both only exist as prehaps references, forgotten code, or an unimplemented feature. But for those who remeber...so did the TotRR.

Anyways, im glad to see a few old name resurfaceing.

Regarding RRI. If it was already implemented in v1, the map would be in the end of the adom exe, together with all the other predefined maps, correct? At least I find that quite logic.

well by reading what the .exe says about it, it looks to me as if there *is* no real map for it, it's just kinda... there. you enter, and get a message, without really leaving the wilderness map.

Jacknife>I was just on two-week holiday (didn't have net access then :) great that somebody remembers me ;) *g*

Locke & Duke could be both right... but that thing that innkeeper gives, doesn't seem to be a scroll...
