Just a random question. Having never actually used the orbs for their abilities, I was just wondering how much corruption you get for using them. Do you get an actual corruption (or 2/3/4/5/ whatever), or just a small percentage added on? Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. |

1000 points roughly equals one corruption. The amount of corruption you get from the orbs is halved if you are wearing the elemental gauntlets. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

Further to Darren's post, the elemental gauntlets help a *LOT* if you are striving to develop an Archmage with the orb of mana. |

Can you further list the effects of the Orbs? I've never actually used them myself, and can only remember one or two. |

Water heals you (can't remember if it's to full hp, or just some big value) Fire causes a fireball Air summons an air elemental pet. Earth - does an earthquake. Never used it 'thou. Mana - increases pp and mana. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Water Orb gives full HP according to the Guidebook. Mana Orb restores all PP and gives +3 Mana. None of the effects are really worth the corruptions you receive. Though in a pinch, if you have no prayers or PoUH and are wearing the elemental gauntlets, then one third of a corruption for full healing might be better than dying. I suppose the Mana Orb effect would be useful to use a few times before you got cleansed by the Unicorn. Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. |

True, but usually you get cleansed after winning the game, when you don't have the Mana Orb anymore... For ultimate endings, different strategies apply, though. You drop the golden ball.
