After seeing Madman post on the True Berseker challenge I decide to try it.Dwarven Barbarian of course. I Decided to try Darkforge at lvl 15(this guy was really buff). Of I went to the first pool: What do you want to wish for? I thanked my luck stars.Wished for AoLS. Went to the next pool: What do you want to wish for? I cant believe my luck.SoCR Went to the next pool: What do you want to wish for? I nearly fell of my chair.More SoCR With Bated breath I went to the next pool. You are moved by the sheer pleasure of this sip of fluid. Next You suddenly feel like jumping around. Next You feel jumpy Next What do you wish for? Next What do you wish for? Next What do you wish for Heaps of SoCR Stopped there.Didnt want to risk any more This must be some dorta record for straight wishes from pools. |

Madman was cribbing bout the RNG.But sometimes I juct love the RNG. Well I have more that enough SoCR.Looks like Corruptions not gonna be a problem.If i do get another wish though I wonder what I should wish for.Any suggestions?Other than Stats,speed and skills. I like to wish for girdle of giant strength (but not for a berserker, since it's armor), potions of (insert whatever attribute your character's class uses most. With berserker, it would be Strength), whatever the best weapon for that character is (especially if you're going for Grand mastery. I recently got a murderous two-handed eternium sword. I'm a happy little troll. :-)). If you're willing to scum a little, wishing for potions of exchange is good (for bug temple). If you haven't saved Kelly yet, you definitely need AoLS. And if it's early in the game, money is nice. (You get about $30,000, which in the beginning is a lot.) -Amanda Sedai, a save-scumming newbie. (Hey, at least I saved that little girl's dog. i like rings of ice so i can do the tower early on. i had a bard that got 7 wishes from a green pool once. was pretty cool. the most i've had in a row is 2 though. eternium plate mails make good wishes, usually get 3 or 4 and you can just sac the other ones. i dunno, it doesn't matter much, i learned to quit wishing for stupid stuff, now i only wish for stuff to complete quests. |

If I get a wish can I for example wish for "murderous two-handed eternium sword(s) of devastation" and actually get it or does the game give me just 2-handed eternium sword(s) with random pre/suffixes(or just ordinary ones)? I don't want to spend precious wish for trying this out. |

I think it's random, Akron. I wished for "eternium two-handed sword of parrying" and got a murderous eternium two-handed sword and two regular eternium two-handed swords. Ohh, I might not be a newbie anymore? :-) *checks the votes.* One vote for and one vote... against? Who voted against me? :-( don't worry, I won't vote. is there a list of the prefixes and suffixes for 1.0 somewhere....what's murderous and parrying do.. i mean besides the obvious, like the actual stats. i've got padded, order, traveling, green, eternium plate mails before. |

Number of things: -First of all, you CANNOT wish for items with pre/suffixes (else I'd be getting nasty eternium spears of penetration every time). However, some items that do not actually have pre/suffixes seem like they do. (amongst these being halberds of defense, whips of the snake, staves of smiting, etc). -Second: Murderous weapons score critical hits more often. Weapons of parrying should have a defense bonus. -Third: Should be a pretty good list of pre/suffixes somewhere in this very spoiler forum...(or at least there -used- to be). on noobness: IMO if you are unable to save either Yrrigs or the pup (either one, not both at once) w/o savescumming/WADOMFing/etc, you are in the pre-school of ADOM (in other words, a total newbie){poor}. once you can save one (or both) w/o [see above] then you're in grade school (newbie){mideocre}. if you make it to dwarftown and finish the old dwarf's quests, you're in jr. high (regular){fair}. once you have gotten at least 2 orb (prob. water & fire) you're in high school (dunno what to call it, maybe good){good}. get to xp lev. 50 adn you're in jr colege. (much better than me){great}. close the gate and you get into school (this part can be skipped if you're good){superb}. get a ULE, plus finish all the unnesacary quests and you're probably equivalant of being a graduate student(that'll be a while for me... like maybe a few years... *g*) {perfect}. notice how i gave it rankings based off skill levels... with an addition. poor, mediocre, fair, good, great, superb, perfect. *g* ivan.sourceforge.net |

Damn! I can never save the pup because it dies too quickly. So I have to comfort myself and go for that ultimate ChAoS God ending. Then I of course pray couple of times in the palace of the Andor Drakon so that I can beat up huge pile of greater balors. When I finally challenge Andor Drakon I put on the boots of the slow shuffle and zap Slow Monster on myself. Then I kill him by throwing cooked lizards towards him. I'm so poor...heh heh, just kidding! :) |
