I was down in the sil, went there straight from the start and sacced the malakai guy on a lawful alter, now i think i was lawful and not the L+ so i was saccing everything i had and after praying a few times my god said take this for your persistantce. It was the purifier which is ok i guess. now i'm over at dwarf town and i'm L+ and i'm saccing everything but i can only get the "you feel spiritually invincible" message. Was i previously crowned before or precrowned, what do i have to do to get more gifts from my god? i'm saccing artifacts, i sacced the greater demon and still same message. Am i missing something here? hehe on a side note i have a "broken rusty rustproof broadsword of devestation", not good if its rusty and rustproof and not good if its broken and devestation. If you got an immunity from praying it was a crowning. Pre/Postcrownings grant an artifact gift but no immunity, crownings grant some immunity. If your char didn't get some message stating an immunity then it was probably a precrowning, otherwise it was probably a crowning. Can't remember the messages, but IIRC in crowning one also gets some amulet (my neutral chars always seem to get amulet of balance, for lawfuls it might be order). As for your sword problem, one oil of rust removal should remove the rusting and one scroll of repair should fix the brokenness. Alternatively the dwarftown smith could fix it for a price. After crowning one needs the char to be at least level 8+3*number of artifacts generated and must not be of extreme alignment. Also, IIRC after crowning (possibly also after precrowning) one can't get the "extemely/absolutely close" message, only "very close". Also, the saccing requirements may be much higher. I tend to use blessed stomafillia for (pre)crowning. Around 100-120 blessed ones seems to be enough for one precrowning and a similar amount more for crowning. Getting crowned means being permanently blessed, so check if you have the Blessed intrinsic listed at the bottom of your screen (where it normally says Satiated etc). Most likely you got precrowned and it's just taking a while to get crowned (it can cost a lot if you've been precrowned before). Also, very notably sometimes you won't get the "extremely close" message ever again, and the only way you can tell if you've sacced enough is to pray. i didnt get the immunity message and i'm not blessed so its only a precrowning then, but i cant get past the spiritually invincible message to the extrememly close or very close one. Hmm i'll keep saccing stuff and see how it goes. fixed my sword but thought it was funny to see rusty rustproof and broken devestation lol thanks for your help guys The stone giant runs away in fear. Remember that you lose piety over time, so it's best to save up all your sacrificial fodder till soo you can sac it in bulk. And yeah, it can take a lot to get your god happy. There is no "close to" message. It is indeed "very close" And second, you may never see the "extremely" close (for another precrown) or "absolutely close" due to the precrown. Or at any rate, you might be eligible for crowning even with "very close" message. You can test it by making sure you are fed, healthy and full of PP and not wearing cursed items and then pray. "remain unheard" prayers are not that expensive (although they get successively more so). I learned from saccing that you always need to sac a lot more than you'd think. Either live creatures or stomofillia, and during either of these methods you will be keeping si in backpack to sell/sac gold. If using live sacs you of course can't save them up. Remember to change levels from time to time to get monster generation "going" again (I put this down as a fact, but is it mabye an adomian urban myth?). I have little problems when I try to get L or C crownings (as you can sac anything) but N can be a pain. If you harvest stomofillia (herbalism is almost needed, as blessed stomo are soooo nice) you of course eat the unsaccable ratling food. Also you of course save up herbs till you sac them in one huge go. Purifier is pretty good due to Wi-bonus, and the golem(undead/demon slaying capabilities, and the fact it is one-handed. It is also a "heavy" weapon which means you can get the heavy-hitting talents. If you get regular crowned with an artifact that is not a weapon you might consider using it as main weapon, as many nasty monsters are demon/undead. However humanoid slaying is a lot nicer... |

well i'm still trying to get my crowning. I got plenty to stuff to sac and lots of blessed stomachfilla herbs. wouldnt you know it, i was finding alters on every 2 or 3 levels but now i'm down in level 35 i havent seen one for ages. woot i found an alter on level 39 and sacced a heap of stuff and gold and i get the message about serving my god well I got an amulet of order which i already had and i got the blessed "brannalbin's cloak of defence" [+3, +3] which has nice immunities. I also got the message about being prepared for the chilling future or something, ie the immunity of cold and yes i did get the permanent blessed woot. now to try to get a post crowning gift The stone giant runs away in fear.
