i've just discovered that it is possible to speed up companions with potions of quickling blood. just throw potions through your companion. he speeds up not becoming hostile.

useless in normal game, but for some chalenges... wish engine into ovespeeded greater moloch as companion...

Really? Cool, does that mean if you throw PoUH does their max hit points go up? That would be neat, having some maxed out cute dog killing things and going supa fast. Or yeah, a greater moloch sped up super fast would be SCHWEET!! Is this going to be a new prequisite for AM?

potions of stat increase DO increase you companions hitpoint, and boosting potions do it aswell only temporary.

not sure if it works for all stats but it does work for potions of strengt.

about potions and companions, I once had a berserker that had picked up a potions of boost speed before I tamed him, then after taming him, at one point he was getting behind and then he drank the potions to keep up with me :), funny stuf you don't usually see, companions are so dumb generally.

If potions of speed and (extra/ultra) healing indeed affect companions it could be an interesting experiment if one first gathered several hundred potions of speed and ultra healing, then wished for cute dog and threw all those potions at it. A cute dog as fast as a quickling and having several hundred hit points ? Sounds like fun...

"Superdog, the cute dog hits the titan. Superdog, the cute dog hits the titan. Superdog, the cute dog hits the titan. Superdog, the cute dog hits the titan. The titan is killed. Superdog, the cute dog suddenly looks more powerful."

extra/ultrahelaing just heals your companion. no increase to hitpoints. potions of toughness should do the job.
