red october, read the weapons section of the manual, it's pretty detailed :) Taz: A potion of gain attributes (4s) is lying here. Suddenly a stone block hits your head! Spears are also good to train, because there are two guaranteed polearm(spear)class artifact weapons. Rune-covered trident (not too bad, demon/undead slayer) and of course Trident of the red rooster. Both of those are sadly two-handed. The other, random artifact spears are not too great, sadly. |

Take a look at Serpent's Bite for "Best melee weapon". It slays humanoids too and deals almost as much damage as Skullcrusher. Add the poison, and it becomes actually even more powerful against those who can be poisoned. Plus, it has higher critical hit chances. My last winner (orcish barbarian) found Serpent's Bite in a jelly vault somewhere around D:12 and achieved Grand Mastery with it. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction?
