OK -my Level 40 Dark Elven necromancer, crowned neutral, (I never found good corpses and am basically playing him as a Wizard at this point; 154 speed is too much for companions/slaves) is past the 90 day mark. What I'm wondering is should I bother with the library before I close the chaos gate? I've got ball and bolt spells of all four elements, magic missile at like 60, Death ray, teleport, light, darkness, Knock, Lock, Farsight, Magic Map, two healing spells, and a whole buch of other spells of varying utility. Should I even bother with the library? I've got a fistful of Potions of Cure Corruption and six or seven scrolls of Chaos Resistance; AND I accidentally lost the "Extremely Light" corruption when I read one of said scrolls (I think I had 8) to get rid of the "poison hands" corruption... Well, it seems like your PC does not need to do the library. Most characters do the libarary earlier in the game. Snwo aval ten |

My climbing never was able to get high enough. I suppose it was my own damn fault -I just did the gremlin cave pickpocket business yesterday... Didn't get much save the phial... Just offhandedly; what happens if you drink it? But yeah, I got a whole bunch of spell books from the casino shop and the two dragon vaults I cleared out. That's where I got all the "Really" cool ones like Death Ray, Farsight, etc. Battle Bunny: "Ach, maybe his Christian altar was stepped on. By a moloch." |

You can't drink it--it's empty. It's better to pickpocket gremlins in a different area--maybe D:9, so you maximize item drop possibilities without having corruption as well. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

I always find its good to the do the library, just to make sure that all my spells are stocked up. PLus of course, Wish is in there. And hey, you never know, you might get some other good items. Just make sure you drop everything thats good before you go. You should clear it out no problem. Also, you can get the tome and give it the MM, and get some more SOCR. You can NEVER have too many of those. All it takes is one freak acid trap/water trap/vortex etc for those babies to be destroyed. The phial - (u)se it to get light. That's its purpose. Sounds like you've got a game winner on your hands. Good luck. ----- Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice. Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Actually, I don't think Necromancers don't get Wish in the library. I was just through there with a Dark Elven Necromancer (Just won an UCG tonight, too, yay!), and it generates scrolls instead of books in the main rooms, like for a non-caster. I think it's still worth it, though, if only for the SoCR, and other stuff. Molach: "I like to have 200+ hp and over 5 good healin potions when I do [the fire] temple. AND some way of killing the Wyrm" Morio: "Some way of killing the worm is recommended, yes :D" |

Wizards get Wish and all theother spell books; Necromancers get fewer books, some scrolls. All in all, it's pretty useful for any class, unless you're playing an illiterate (obviously)... and an illiterate may still need the XP! Die Gedanken sind Frei |

Necros are fun. But yeah, I say do it if you have stealth and want SoCR. I did it with a druid of mine, complete waste. No good spells. Anyway, shouldn't be hard. And wish isn't in there. For some ungodly sad reason only Wizards get all spellbooks. Annoying to see a moloch as a necro and realize you couldn't get that acid ball cause ya weren't a wizard. I've never gotten the wierd tome, gone there with many chars so I can't say I really like it anymore. Your choice. Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

Ah, I forgot about stealth for the Chaos Resistance scrolls. I think my Stealth is in the toilet pan -I never increased it once. Nevermind. It seems to have gone to 100 all by itself. Doesn't matter, though, I'm on D:42 or thereabouts, and just hit level 45 from another one of those lovely Greater Red Wyrms (that was three levels! I was dumbfounded!) AND I HAVEN'T CLEARED IT YET! There are still Ancient Red Dragons hanging out in there! I'll probably do some "Sightseeing" after I close the chaos gate. Wish me luck! Battle Bunny: "Ach, maybe his Christian altar was stepped on.
