Ok, I think I just made a major blunder. I am a 28 gnomish mindcrafter who got to his level. I had no wands of cold to get RoHK, so I attacked him. He spawned a clone, and walked back to the staircase. The second one is beating me up badly, I had to teleport away. How do I trick past him/defeat him? He is faster then me and does major damage so I had to pray a few times. Thanks in advance, I want this guy to go far but he might not be able to. Homework is not meant for home! Hmm, if you can lure him away somehow without dying, maybe with some companions in the way, you could teleport to the stairs and head down? ---- Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Dangit, I think my guy is dead. I got some pets and stalled him for a minute and attacked the origional on the stairs. I walked back and there was ANOTHER clone. Don't give up yet. The second eternal guardian is peaceful. Just pump the first with humanoid slaying arrows or penetrating weapons. Go up the staircase and look for some. Also, I'm not sure, but I believe the eternal guardian is not immune to telekinetic blasts. Btw, if you can kill the eternal guardian, you gain about 900k exps. *Edit* Have you tried teleporting past the eternal guardian yet? you'r a gnome so you have ventriolime, it works on the guardian so you can confuse him and sneak past him. |

Yeah, the eternal guardian isn't immune to tele blast. I haven't gotten to the good one yet because I haven't hit 30, but there are 2 after me. I'm going to go up to surface to look for a wand of cold/another wand of tele (i'm going to assasins cave). If I kill the others or get past them, can I peacefully go past the origional with RoHK?900k xp would really help tho. Those guys just pack a PUINCH! I want to try to get past them, get stuff in casino that would help, then come back and hit 50 by killing them. Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

Whichever ones you've made hostile will stay hostile, but the one on the stairs will be peaceful and will let you past if you get the ring. You can then deal with the original two later (after the casino as you say). You can try and get a white dragon or ogre magus in the high kings dungeons down to the bottom level - their cold blast will freeze the ice for you. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

I've just done something similar. Hit the first guardian without thinking. Boy am I glad I did, 5 levels gained in 5 minutes. The first is so slow, and with teleport + control, lots of offensive spells. Easy. From now on, the first guardian is doomed, I'm going to take one down each game (well every game I get this far with anyway) |

they seem never to speed up. and if you last clone while on stairs {teleporting him out - standing on stairs - shooting humanoid slayers} you can stop them from respawning. but that means shortcut via darkforge is dead forever. A root is a flower that disdains fame. Kahlil Gibran(1883-1931) |

Finally, Hallalujah! After about forty days and 40+ logs (and 6 holy water to bless a few..) I got there. King was very easy. I also got a ordinary ring (haven't IDed yet, hoping big) and alot of exp. Now just to deal with corruption from past 90 days. Thanks for help all, I wouldn't have thought of continuing this character and trying to get RoHK. Edit: Just remembered, something wrong with guidebook. In my long long time doing that, I met a shadow wyrm. It casted ice, and I was glad. After killing upwards of 200 shadows I lured him there. Didn't freeze water. Oh. Shoot. I talked to him with ring. He said "You have angered my clone. Calm him down." In other words, bloods probably gonna have to spill, and I don't want it to be mine. Talking to other guy (hostile) said "Me no talk now. You anger me." And he attacked me. That means, I have to kill both. I have arrows of slaying, but little bow skill. You don't have to kill both. Kill the first clone, then talk to the second. Your arrows of slaying should work well - bless and poison them. Snwo aval ten |

Sweet!! I managed to kill both clones! A total of around 6 levels. I stayed next to stairs, and kept tele blasting the first clone then going down. Took a few days (in game). Finally killed him and got to level 31. Then with greater tele blast (really cool). Got the second clone. Thought about attacking Eternal Guardian some more to get more exp, but decided against it and got to level 33 I think. Went down to casino and there now. Also, the guidebook says they have some 1800 hp, these ones had 2400 and each gave over 1 million exp. Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

That's strange. I killed the eternal guardian today with my lvl 19 trollish barbarian and he didn't clone at all. Maybe it was because I had RoHK already..I just hope he doesn't come back unexpectedly. I killed him , walked around, nothing happened, so just went to the casino. hmmmmmm..... |
