I beat the game!! Sortof... I had about 100 hitpoints left, no PoEH, no prayers, was right next to the closed lever, so I zapped ( a wand of Destruct). Shame, I was gonna go do the bug temple afterwards, I might submit to untimely deaths...

Might that fall under "fallen heros" if the gate was completely shut before time of death?
Molach: "I like to have 200+ hp and over 5 good healin potions when I do [the fire] temple. AND some way of killing the Wyrm"

Morio: "Some way of killing the worm is recommended, yes :D"

Was the other lever closed or destroyed? Were there any balors remaining? I'm not sure if the game itself would count it as dying "after saving the world" (as it sometimes says in the flg and high score) - you should be able to figure it out from comparing the points scored with other fallen heroes and winners.

One or two balors were still alive, and it was the last lever. It just says, " He ended his adventuring life on D50." He scored on the low end of the fallen heroes (just above 6 mil) but I had saved ALOT (no scumming).

Pretty sure that's a fallen hero then. Only 2 untimely deaths scored over 6 million. What does it say in the high score about how you died?

It says " Daniel, the gnomish mindcrafter was drained by a wand of destruction." I'm using 1.1.1 and my other guy had about the same message.
