My current hurthling necromancer just did rift - found a surge of power which gave skullcrusher. Nice. Already had serpent's bite, but now I can dual wield these humanoid slayers...wicked. |

I've been playing hurthling thieves recently. Avid use of pick pocketing providing plenty of good equipment in the early game but every single one of them dies in the upper level of the pyramid. Extremely frustrating, especially since I haven't had any character die there in 2 years. Current character had a good start. Skipped Kranach but for the first time ever - I suspected it couldn't happen - I recieved the shining silver bracers as a pre-crowning gift. Currently preparing to clear out a mixed vault half way through the UD (the rest of the UD has been cleared) before going for the ankh. |

I currently have a Lv 21 DE Wizard on the go. Two AOLS, one went to Khelly of course. Just popped in to say hit to the Cat Lord. Got his ring. Crowned with Staff of the Archmagi, felt a surge of power early in the game and got the scorched spear which is currently being wielded. Everything's rolling along, nothing of great worth apart from the two amulets so far. See how it all pans out I guess... ----- Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Yeah, amulets of life saving are like that. Once you have one, you get loads of them. My winner monk, found around 4 (one was wished for for kelly). And wouldn't ya know it, he never needed one (aside from giving it away). Thedrin, what weapon have you been using? Bless it, that will help. Also, are you going into the corner like this. Bah, it won't let me draw it. Go up to the upper right corner. That way, you can only get hit by two people at a time. Then, just wait until some weak monster comes and leave him at that spot and just attack the other side. And nice with the BoW, good luck with him. Homework is not meant for home! Wow, this is a first for me (well in the COC anyway). Just amblin' around the COC, not doing the temples, but getting some experience and levelling up. When I find this room. Click below on the Crikey! Yep, you are seeing right. A tension room full of named Great Black Wyrms. Only ever found this once before, and that was around LV 1000 of the ID. Sweet! My level 20 dwarvish Mindcrafter is kicking butt. He has a helm of water breathing(6,7), helm of teleportation,(7,7), black scale mail,(6,16), Rune Axe, Eternium Tower Shield ,(6,17), poison hands(:(, thick gauntlets instead of elemental, boots of speed, long bow, dwarvish pickaxe, and necklace of the eye.I smith, smith, and smith. I now have all the armor I want for the entire game(in grave yard lich king gave =oDS, wished for tower shields), so I'm going to hurry up(day 72, even though I saved khelly with pool wish), and I might get my first win ever!!! Should I do quickling tree? I have 7 scrolls of chaos resistance....I also have mastery in axes, 6 in bows, 7 in shields.I have a dv of 67 on normal and pv of 47 on normal. That's my current char! Quickling tree, there is NO point in doing it without Food preservation. If you have it, bring along alot of stomaceptia and you will love it. Otherwise, you will be lucky to get 3 corpses. Admitted, the artifact is crap. Also, if you do plan to go don't melee anything. Bring wands, spells, or mindcraft (only use greater mind blast if you have it right now). You could also bring a small xbow and use the quarrels (they drop alot). Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

You can bring alot of stuff to quickling tree by going in and bringing the max amount of items you can, dropping them, and going back to pick up the max amount, and so on. Dunno if it's worth all the efforts, but makes it much easier :P |

I tend to get enough speed from eating greater claw and killer bugs at the temple. Hurts Willpower, so I do it only if I have a source of morgia roots. My current hurthling necromancer is really doing great. got 2 amulets of life saving and is level 47, just killed Filk on level 51. He also found BoW, by digging up a dwarven grave. |

My mindcrafter got another wish after returning from ToEF(stupid ACW, little pansy),killed a rat, found cursed ring of djinni summoning. Blessed it, got 3 sets of SLB's. It's currently day 87, and btw, is the Cat Lord vulnerable to mindcraft? I killed 10 cats so....I've never gotten this far before and I don't want to die. and thanks cat lord lord, I have two spellbooks of teleportation, and used wands of wonder so I can teleport when I please(besides astral planes corruption) "You try to give Fang, the large dog the bone. Never mind about Kherab , killed him easily in melee/mindcraft/arrows:D. But no clue about cat lord. Also, is the Minotaur Axe worth getting? I have lvl 13 in axes so I could always use an axe for hard-hitting, since Rolf's Companion doesn't really dish out a lot.I encountered a titan below the casino(after I robbed it:D) and he resisted every trick I had, so I had to flee for the first time in the entire game....*sob* "You try to give Fang, the large dog the bone. Well, corruption's not a problem, I'll just drop all destroyable equipment on first steps except 1000 cooked lizards....Though I should bring some fodder for the RNG though...I'm immune to fire and acid so I think I'll do it tomorrow. I just love the RNG.. (I'm sure that'll change to hate during the next hour, though). Rolled randomly a dwarven barbarian just 20 minutes ago. Thought he'd suck so decided to do HMV first. Herbs on UD:1, undead vaults on UD:2 and UD:4 - Bracers of war from there (wtf, I didn't even notice a named guy, nor the surge of power message), a tower crystal shield [+13,+4], mithril chain mail [-1,+8], adamantium girdle [0,+3], cloak of defense [+4,0] and loads of potions and scrolls. Got to HMV, went to CoC - two more undead vaults, got heaps of potions, scrolls, wands etc. Just no good weapons yet. Just did the first dwarven quest (kill a caveman, yay) and will go on from there. With DV/PV of 58/33 I shouldn't have any troubles, especially when I get mummy wrappings and ankh. My character as the usual "What now" problem. However his choices are luxury ones: He is a hurthling necromancer He is level 50. He possesses the trident of the red rooster. He has 2 rings of djinni summoning. He has a lot of great equipment. His HPs and Stats are good enough. He is L+. He is NOT crowned. He possesses the amulet of chaos, safely stored away. So what now? I both wanna close the gate and make an ID-diver as well as win a first Ultra Chaos God. (Have in fact only made Order ones - had one attepmted Balance one turn WMoPC on me... |

My elven wizard still lives this is a very new thing to me. I did not know that such a thing was possible. All though I bruned my mana stat learning how to recharge wands, he is doing very well. I did get stuck with the ape corruption for a few and that killed his wis. and int. lame. I also had to use pools to get a amulet of life saving, I hate pools. I did have a few questions: Is there a limit to how much speed you can get from killer bugs? Also I have after many pc deaths buy mistake learned how to kill that dam Shyssiryxius, I miss a key and by mistake cast darkness what a dum dragon. But I take to big a alignment hit is there a way around that? One more I was under the understanding that dwarves made the dungeon under dwarf town.
