Ohkay, results and discussions here. In addition to normal scoring I think I forgot to mention that the QUICKER win is always better, other things being equal. But chaos ultimate is better than neutral ultimate even if neutral was faster. Yeah. Thats what I meant. Results so far: (Remember to post your score when you die in the other thread. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my score. It was 3365 points. I hope I won't score last place overall... Whoever said ID:1 was the safest place in the game? Hm I just looked in the HoF, and it turns out I submitted a merchant winner once. Which I had forgot about (changed comp., so it was out of my highscore) They aren't that tough, are they? VD:4 might be a pretty safe place to be... By the way, even if you have a cursed TOOL equipped, you can still use spenseweed from your inventory...takes same amount of game time, only longer real-time [Edited 1 time, last edit on 12/24/2006 at 17:37 (GMT -5) by Molach] |

Hi, never played merchants or actually any melee chars before (dont like playing with movement button pressed and otherwise i thought game progresses really slow(killing monster 1 by 1)) So tried challenge just from curiosity(throwing coins is fun). Forget to make logfile, so just a result: 26574 Kseftman. L11 gnomish merchant (M). 18084 xps. 9701 turns. Died on 12/25/2006. He was killed by a rat in a small cave. Sign: Book Talents: Alert, Miser, TH, Long Stride Special: Rings First levs in ID, than Kranach and VD(altar there). Was really "lucky" on several water traps, which destroed 1/2 of my recipes. When read the rest of them in shop, no one was identify. Found only !oBoozes + some attributes. Got a bit training with bow, but that was destroyed by Lightning trap, so back to coins. Peeped in PC, but ants were too strong for me-> ran out. Tried SMC, got surrounded by rats in first corridor, which i cannot effectively hit with anything (only wand I found were of light, door creation and stun). Changed to very agg->long pressed button -> died. Guess i will stick with my wizards :-) |

Howdy, new to the forum, though played the game for like 6-8 years. The challenge was quite nice. I made the sorry mistake of going after Yriggs. Got killed by a minotaur there. And actually the coin throwing tactic worked pretty well. 1d2+7 damage is pretty nice in the beginning I think. Just should've steered somewhere safer.. Oh well, it's not like I have ever beaten the game anyways... |

Which score is counted for the ranking? The score listed in the high score list or the score listed in the end game summary (He scored X points and advanced to level Y)? |

We count SCORE for the ranking. It is listed in high score list (after pos.) Not to be confused with xps. Haven't played my char yet, still with family. But it will most likely be an early grave for my little hobbit too. |

Just for the record here, my char died. Toljanteri, the gnomish merchant, was killed by a flesh golem. She scored 14902 points and advanced to level 11. She survived for 0 years, 17 days, 2 hours, 29 minutes and 45 seconds (12104 turns). |

Score 27923 , lvl 11. Killed by a jackal lvl 7 VD 18068 xps ****************** This guy should have gone places. So annoyed with my death. Started very cautious, ID ran whenever anything tough came along, rock throwing beacme a speciality. After getting to lvl 7, decided to do some real work. Saved the carpenter, got healing. Then found an altar. Got crowned, jet black glaieve !!!. Decided to level up a bit. Came across a tension room of jackelwere. Killed most, but then they started getting tough. Decided to kill one more, but he summoned too many friends, they blocked the stairs, and I died. If I had gone to COC that one kill earlier, this little guy might just have been a contender. |

Well so I died. Greed killed me, I could have built slowly up, but wanted the UD-HMV trip...at level 12. Didn't find stairs quick enough, so got mobbed. It appears that the -flg and the highscore list gives out different scores, -flg being higher. And I think the result-list given has a mix of these scores. Nothing much to do about that I guess, as not everyone has made a -flg file and probably not everyone made it to their highscore list... Not that important really, point was to save christmas, and noone has come close still...truly a nightmare after christmans indeed... Nice effort all. |

Well I died. I spent half an hour trying to kill that ogre magus and it kept on running away and healing. And I couldn't leave the level yet since a necromancer filled the big room with summons. Death, the gnomish merchant, was frozen to death by a female ogre magus. He scored 12593 points and advanced to level 10. Snwo aval ten |

i've lost my char due to signal 291. i have backup save. so is it moral enough to restart char? i've got edge from restart becouse i know coral necklace in backpack is uncursaed necklace of rapid healing (and i'm screwed by rng having Jharod being killed by fireball trap i believe). on other hand i lose 7LB, orcish spear of devastation (sweat 5d8+8), long bow, helm of mental stability, rings of damage and other nice stuff. in normal game i would just generate another char to avoid frustration becouse it was not too much advanced. but that is one shot challenge and leaving it even without having score is ugly.
