Murrok, the level 8 high elven assassin was killed by Ung'Gort, the balor on level 6 of the CoC. Artifacts found durring his adventurers: runed covered longsword "trusted one" felt a surge of power...and in the first room next to me, I see this baby lying on the ground. It seems that the item and the monster have something in common, or something funny. Trusted one is strong, AND you can trust it, while you can't trust a balor, since it teles all the time. And it's strong too. according to any williams, the strength of the guardian and the strength of the item are similar... but alteast the serpent sting would be very effective against the cobra! another nasty guardian for an artifact is a yellow ooze. thanks to a pair of 7 leage boots, I was able to move 2 rooms away and go down the stairs w/o him chasing me, but then I lose 61 hps from poison...and thats just the first hit. the crazy spamming of regenerates didn't help much either. Yellow ooze usually aren't that tough, but I've run into a few yellow oozes that are way out of proportion. The named yellow ooze could be one of those. Snwo aval ten |

Oh yes, I'm very good at taking down them. Allow me to demonstrate "RUN!!!!!!!!! Whew, a staircase. CRAP!! IT FOLLOWED ME!!" Then proceed to run around in a circle (they usually is slow). Run up the staircase, casually walk over and pick up artifact. And Battle bunny, kinda hard to beat Li-Hon-Kay without a certain wrapping at level 8.
