Thrundarr, the elder in dwarftown, asked me to kill a cave lion for his first quest. Is there any way around this? Is there any way to finish the quest without killing a lion? Thanks for your help. |

Nope, technically you could go thru the game until youve gotten the Ring of the Master Cat, then leave it on another level, then kill a cave lion, go back and get the ring then head back to Thundarr, but you should just kill the Cave Lion, and every other cat you come across, then take down the Cat Lord later :p *<< Words go here >>* |

maybe not every cat:) each killed cat makes cat lord stronger and even after 15-20 cats this fight maybe very vey nasty. A root is a flower that disdains fame. Kahlil Gibran(1883-1931) |

More cats = more exp=more fun! (And more pain+death...) Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

Also eventually the integer loops round and you only get 1 xp for an amazingly difficult fight. I've heard tale that if you only kill 1 cat he's peaceful, but won't give you the ring. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

in my last game it was one cat and bloody fight. but i have a memmory of nonhostile cat lord after one kill. it is rumoured that hearing roar after kill is important. A root is a flower that disdains fame. Kahlil Gibran(1883-1931) |

Hearing the roar does nothing as far as I know. I had a character a while back that got to the cat lord with one cat killed. He was slightly hostile when I found him. I can't remember what he said when I talked to him then he attacked me a short while later. |

Hearing the roar depends on some stat like perception and whatever. It doesn't affect anything though. (\_/) (o.0) (> <) ( / \ ) Don't click this http://www.mindistortion.net/iwantyoursoul/?i_am=Darkcutter |

Chaos Muffin, how can he go and find the Cat Lord, when he needs to activate the portal before he can go deeper? I might be wrong, haven't played ADOM for a year, I think, but I thought that one had to either make Thundarr's quests and let him activate the portal or just kill him yourself and activate the portal. For the Horde! |

Oh yeah, now I remember. But still, I'd just kill the cat, there's nothing you can possibly get that's worth the trouble of avoiding every cat you come across. For the Horde! |

ring of master cat seems good enough. and IMHO avoiding deadly fight too. p.s. technically you can enter cat lord level. then kill the cat and after that chat with him and get the ring. even if you kill cat just before eyes of cat lord. and you wan't fall from grace:) there seens to be sort of bug: check on cats is made on the entering the level not on chating. Thrundarr just told my illiterate Barbarian, who was really hoping for a nice quest monster, to kill a cave tiger :(. What a bastard. Suspect Thrundarr is going to get his ass handed to him at some point later in this game, if I don't die first... |

Being illiterate, you should be glad for getting a quest monster that the RNG will be all too happy to dump in your at the most inopportune moments... You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction?
