I just fought MaLiKaI, and he dropped: eternium cap (+3, +3) [+0, +4] I'm stoked - I thought (+1, +1) was the maximum. (Of course this can be smithed/scrolled up to eternium cap (+3, +3) [+9, +9] - but I didn't find it that way - still +3 to hit / +3 to damage is pretty sweet!) What is the maximum (to hit, to damage)for armor? What have you found that's the best non-Artifact armor / weapon? -Actually obtained - not dream of finding. I dream of finding murderous eternium two-handed sword of devastation but I don't have one. Try the TiLiCat! It's experience! I would prefer a murderous eternium two-handed sword of *penetration* to what you stated for wishing for Emperor Moloch, etc. It is generally better for late-game since most monsters have good PV by that time. actually I would prefer a one-handed weapon like that but I digress. Horned helmet (+1, +1) [+1, +4]. Started with that. Ring of mental stability (Le+4) Iron boots (+1, +1) [+0, +1]. Started with that as well, not with the same char as above though. Helm of Water Breathing [+0, +3] With smithing and/or scrolls its possible to get nicer things like: Crown of Lightning [+2, +3] (Spd + 5) I haven't been that lucky this way but had I realized that Eternium caps are only [+0, +4] I would've been more excited with the Horned helmet. I've had eternium caps [+0,+6]. Armor of life (not health) increases hp by 20%, power with PP. Daggers of Death and Swords of sharpness are good too. I wish I could find Blessed eternium frozen two-handed sword of devestation. 10d6+25+2d6 I think? Homework is not meant for home! It's a sick verbal coincidence! -My brother |

Yeah, F50, I agree - for the first half of the game - murderous eternium two-handed sword of devastation because few monsters have much PV, But by the end, murderous eternium two-handed sword of penetration would be more of a killer, and I guess it wouldn't really slow you much at the beginning to have penetration instead of devastation. It's those big numbers devastation has - they sucker me in with their shining promises of huge damage. I've never liked the one-handed weapon/shield combo. I love my two-handed weapons. How do you expect to get DV if you are using a two-handed sword? It gets mildly reasonable with two-handed polearms (I have never tried but I have heard good numbers), but I like having 3d6 + ~60 (total for a certain level 24 char with Rolf's Companion without fire Orb which adds seven or so damage) damage and 60-70 DV on Very Agressive (more DV (~15 I think) if I used spears but I think I would get ~15 less damage as well). As soon as I find a source of invisibility - I go berserk - Invisible berserkers with Find Weakness and Backstabbing can really do a lot of damage - taking out most monsters before they even know they've been marked for death. For more dangerous monsters I play more cautiously - poison missiles - one hand weapon/shield Try the TiLiCat! It's experience! I've had: - an adamantium two-handed sword of penetration (which I didn't use) - ring of mental stability {Le+4} [+0,+4] - eternium equipment regularly reaches PV values of six, eight or sixteen (plate mail). One tension room of chaos warriors usually yields one of those. Penetration works best against very-high-PV opponents, and those usually appear late in the game. Since these opponents usually are harder to deal with than low-PV opponents (berserker emperors being the exception of the rule), penetration is probably more valuable and thus more desirable to have. I'd prefer a murderous eternium two-handed sword of devastation though... because of the name ;) |

I've never significantly used any weapon in the two-handed category. I pick up eternium 2-handed swords anyway, just out of curiousity. I can't remember any older examples, but on my current character, I found two girdles of strength {+4} in the Terinyo-area dungeons. Yes, two. Just recently I got a GoGS from a dragon, in fact, but that's all moot now, as I've trained myself to 99 strength with a ring of weakness. I find it funny that most of the items listed were weapons, not armor.... I prefer armor over weapons, since the best offense is a good defense: I like moloch armor, had smithed up moloch armor of life....VERY nice. "You try to give Fang, the large dog the bone. Weapons are the star pitchers, while the armor is like... like... that guy that always catches the balls behind the batter. If I actually knew anything about baseball, I'd feel better about whether my metaphor just now made any sense. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd! |
